The central location and the staff are the best thing about the hotel. Considering the pricing it would be cheaper to stay outside town and get an Uber in and out. The rooms are tiny and no room for anything if one person is standing up, however the beds are comfortable, if staying in room 109 or nearby be aware the swing door into and out of the kitchen starts banging at 6.15am and although we notified the reception nothing was done about it during our stay. Breakfast was ok not great with the quality and variety noy being great. There is renovation work currently going on but it did not bother us.

We only arrived today and it is an absolutely amazing location! We were met with the nicest receptionist named Ricky, he was the nicest man! He took time to speak to us and was so welcoming! Just an all round good person! So far we’re extremely pleased. Our room is small but perfect. Absolutely immaculate and large windows too! Overall we are very happy!

A building site

We had a 2 night stay from 5th - 6th November, during the 2nd day we returned to the room for a nap after going for lunch and found a building site outside of our room and along the corridor. There was dangerous and hazardous equipment left out, loud noises from drills and hammers continuously. We complained to main reception in which they said 'did no one tell you when you checked in?' Which no one had told us. Regardless, a building site is not acceptable for anyone to be staying or expecting a restful stay.

Clean but not practical.

The hotel is in a great location. No problems with noise, very clean and the staff were very helpful. But (and this is beyond their control) the room was badly equipped. One wall socket under the mirror, the other by one side of the bed. This meant the kettle was plugged into an extension cable resulting in trailing wires. One chair and one impractical low bench with a fixed pad. The floor space would have been better used for a higher table, with an additional socket for the kettle, rather than having to use the small freestanding table. Lack of hooks for hanging coats. More trailing wires hanging from the ceiling for bedside lights. A nice clean room, but not practical. And trailing wires were worrying.

This was the PERFECT location for our two nights in Edinburgh! It’s centrally located so we walked everywhere. The staff are friendly and helpful, the room has all the basics and was very comfortable. We opted to do breakfast at the hotel- this is an additional fee but we felt the value was there. If you’d like to grab a cup of coffee or a snack, you’re in luck because there is so much variety just steps from their door. The only minor inconvenience is no in-room fridge for leftovers…however, since the UK serving sizes tend to be more reasonable than American portions, this was only an issue for me since I don’t eat as much as most people do. This is now a permanent “love” on my list for return visits.
