James gave superb check-in experience with a lake-view room without me asking for it. He clearly explained the amenities of the hotel and tie-ups with the pubs and bars in the CBD. What elevated my stay was the service Marty from the restaurant provided in accomodating my dietary needs during the breakfast rush-hour. Lovely stay.

Friendly staff. Everyone had time to say hello. Bar staff quickly learned who we were. Partner’s birthday one day and chief produced cake and candles. Two staff sang her happy birthday. A lovely surprise for her. Spectacular view from our room.

this was a one night stay and I was very surprisd by the quality and the location of this mercure hotel I was upgraded to one of the lower terrce rooms which look directly out onto the harbour. The view from the window was SUPERB!! The outside Bar area had an equally great view. I had dinner in the restaurant and was equally impressed by the quality of food All this does come at a price and the hotel is not cheap but IMHO well worth the extra

Hotel is a bit rundown, needs updating. Best features are its position and that great view. Worst feature is the Buffet Breakfast. It is terrible. If you arrive at say 9.15am most of the food is gone, the fruit looks like it came out of a can. I had poached eggs every morning, at least I knew they were fresh. I had to ask all the time for Bread, butter etc: as they had run out.
