The Vines ..... definiteley a fail !

We checked in on tuesday the 13th (was this a bad omen ?) for two nights leaving on the 15/9/22. The Vines opened in 1987 it is looking tired and run down in places especially some of the external area's. We booked a King room originally but upgraded when we arrived to a Executive room the room itself was tidy enough and looked as if it may have been updated some time in the last 5 years or so. In the middle of the room was a coffee table which we had to clean, it was very dirty with bits of cleaning cloth stuck to it, and looked like it had been wiped down with an oily rag ! I asked the cleaning staff for a cloth and some cleaning fluid which they gave me (with no offer to come and clean it) The lady at the reception was very good but she did get one thing wrong im sorry to say, we asked which room was better for a view and she reccomended room 154 as an Executive room with a view, unfortunatlely the room had a view of a wall and a hedge with a small break in it with a Grass tree in it. I think she got confused with the room directly above it which had a balcony not a court yard was the room with the view.... we decided we would live with this. The room had a smart tv in both the bedroom and the living area, on the tv were options for Foxtel, stan etc., etc., we tried to connect but couldnt. There was no in room information sheet on how to connect to any of the services and the TV guide on the hotel did not give any information either. I enquired with reception and was told that the only way was to use your own personal subscription and passwords from home !!! Firstly who walks about with their Foxtel passwords and subscription info available in case they need it ? basically you can watch the local channels 7, 9 and 10 etc., etc., and nothing else unless you use your own subscription. All other facilities Muscats restaurant and the Muscats bar were closed and do not open for most of the week except for breakfast. The bar only opened on Friday and Saturday ! There was only one place to eat in the hotel which was the The Vines cafe & bar which a pseudonym for a public bar ! where a parmy meal or fish and chips were the norm. We were very disapointed in this place and the website portrays a different picture. We paid $420.00 dollars a night ! which i believe is a rate for when everything is functioning !, it certainly could not be the rate as it stands as a semi ghost town. I notice on Trip advisor that there are similar reviews to this one, and there appears to be a standard answer..... ÿour comments have been noted and passed on to management" .... the same sort of comments have been going on here on trip advisor since 2017 and it appears that nothing is ever corrected and looks like management lip service. Most companies will stretch out correcting issues if its going to cost them money ! i have personal experience with global companies in this area and in this instance Novotel (accor) should hang their heads in shame, it is a disgrace. My advice to you is "buyer beware"

Was really appreciative of all the staff especially Peter, who were very helpful. Then on the last day met Lee who was super unfriendly and even rude - my ‘good morning’ was not returned, and I’d greeted her not once, but twice. Then was straight up unhelpful when I asked for a slightly late check out. Plain no - ‘room has someone checking in’ when hotel is obviously very low on occupancy(so why do they need that particular room??). Most hotels would at least allow an hour of extension in such a case, but no not her. And check out time is a very early 10am!

I'm sorry you did not find our staff member helpful in relation the request for a late check out, we are currently at a higher occupancy due to conference and events. We pride ourselves on our customer service try and assist with all hotel guests requests where possible. Tired and Grotty

I was excited to be booking a 3 bedroom apartment at the vines to celebrate a milestone birthday with family. On arrival was directed to the 10th tee apartments which were a mix of residential and guests bit weird I thought. Lounge looked like it was from another era not in a good way and there was a used dummy under the cushions. It didn't look like it had been cleaned in the last 5 years. Outside table and patio not cleaned. Apartment had a rank smell. Rubbish was supposed to be collected outside the door each day. It remained there the whole time we were. On the good side room service breakfast and restaurants great just very disappointing to pay premium price for such a rundown apartment

A perfect retreat

A wonderful resort, waking up to birdsong rather than traffic. Comfortable rooms, good facilities. It's great to walk the gof course and see hundreds of kangaroos at dusk. The town of Ellenbrook is close by for shopping and restaurants.

Lovely stay

My Husband and I spent a night at the Vines recently so he could play a game of golf with some work colleagues. Due to his tee off time we arrived a few hours before official check in time but were delighted to find our room was ready. The reception staff were lovely, helpful and very welcoming. We had a lovely King Executive room which was massive and had a lovely view over the Wedding Ceremony Gardens from our balcony. We could see some of the golf course and the occasional kangaroo beyond the gardens. The bathroom was also large, modern and clean and it had a free standing bath. My one very small negative comment is the towels could have been a bit bigger and thicker. Our bed was very comfortable and the pillows were lovely too. After golf we had dinner at Muscats Restaurant where the food was very delicious and the service was amazing - very friendly, helpful yet professional. After a great nights sleep we indulged in breakfast in Muscats Restaurant which had a pleasant amount of choice buffet style and the added bonus of being able to order eggs to your liking. Checkout was easy - different staff encountered but just as friendly as the check in staff. We have stayed in Hotels all over the world and I am pleased to say we enjoyed our stay at The Vines - albeit a short one.
