Really enjoyed our stay. After traveling for 4 months through New Zealand and Australia we finished our trip in this lovely hotel. The room was clean and spacious and we loved looking out on the area where the kangaroos chilled. As we visited in the autumn the pool was too cold. Even though the weather was great it was still too cold, for me that would be the only thing I think could be improved, to have a heated pool. The spa bath was a good alternative though.

The Vines is a lovely resort - the staff are lovely, the food was really good and the singer in the restaurant was superb - it's not cheap, but it was worth the money. The room was nicely laid out, the bathroom spacious and bed comfortable. Our only complaint was the lack of soundproofing between rooms. During the day there were screaming kids running up and down, riding on their bikes in the hallways, throwing chess pieces around in the garden - all disappointing. Most disappointing of all was our last night there - the people on the room next door, were still shouting, laughing and slamming doors at 11pm - they had no consideration for anyone else and I ended up having to go and knock on their door. We were told by the lovely cleaning lady that we should have rang security. Another time, we will. There are cobbled tiles in the corridor and when the cleaning cart went over it the noise is horrendous - the last visit from the cleaning cart last noight was 8.45pm. It wouldn't put us off going again though.

The room we were given had a view of a wall & a hedge. Not at all inspiring, very disappointing, especially after the view from our room at the Novotel in Barossa valley. Coming all this way, it would be lovely to have a view of the surrounding countryside. The room is large comfortable, clean & bog standard hotel decor.

We stayed here for a special occasion - my partner and I, flying in from Melbourne. We work so hard and times are tough so it is not very affordable to take too many holidays. I booked a staff rate being an Accor staff member in Australia at the time The rooms were lovely and well appointed looking over the kangaroos and mini vineyar. The food at the restaurant was outstanding as was the service . We were told to produce our Bienvenue card at checkout for 15% of food and beverage The next day we checked out. The duty manager/ assistant manager rudely refused to offer the 15% staff discount of food because the card was not presented the the restaurant itself. I explained to him that the restaurant said to produce it at checkout. The duty manager said "well you're a staff member right, you should know, no staff card - no discount- fair deal" lol lol lol. I was disgusted and gobsmacked with his reply and attitude, to the extent that the receptionists overheard and their jaw dropped. I didnt take on the matter further because i did not want to ruin our special getaway I was an assistant manager myself and in NO WAY EVER would i speak to a customer like that even if they were a staff member . He said he could put in the discount but i knew he could through Opera lol. What an absolute joke . I ended up telling my whole team back at work and they were also shocked . 😳

Stayed in one of the villas; extremely tired accommodation for the price. Accidently left a mobile phone charger there-cheaper buy a new one than buy and post a pre-paid self addressed small parcel box to the Vines for them to send it back to us. (We are within the Greater Perh area, it would have simply been nice for them post it to us themselves, from the significant profit they operate at). All in for the money, limited care for the customer.
