We have just returned from a 3 night trip to London , as first timers to the city. I booked this hotel via lastminute.com and feel like I won a watch with it. The hotel was spotless, and the reception/foyer smelt amazing. The rooms were spacious, as a family of 3 we had ample room with the king size bed and the sofa bed. The housekeeping daily was fabulous and our room was always left spotless. I had notified the hotel prior to our arrival that we were traveling a few days after my husbands birthday and they had left a sweet treat in our room which was a nice touch. The tea and coffee facilities in the room with the small under-counter fridge was ideal also. The shower gel/ hand wash in the room was Rituals , which was lovely. I loved the feature of the filtered water machine and used this to fill our water bottles etc. We used the bar area on our last evening for some hot drinks and some snacks to take to the room, I can’t fault the service we recieved and the prices didn’t too expensive especially for a hotel. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which is great for links to the attractions and the buses run 24hours and are very frequent. My only thing would be no plug sockets beside the bed, there is usb sockets however my apple charger doesn’t have usb. And also our TV kept turning on randomly , even when the remote control was placed on the sideboard. This happened a few times overnight and the screen was a white screen for screen casting, so was bright enough to waken us. Not really sure the cause of this. But over all we had a fabulous trip and would definitely return to this hotel.

Quiet location near Lambeth Palace. Clean bedroom, easy check in/ check out. Short walk to the tube, around 1km to Westminster. Perfect location to be in the heart of London and easy access. Hotel seemed clean and quiet which suited us perfectly.

Good location but let down by dreadful breakfast and small details

I don't normally bother with review as we travel a great deal, but things are not quite right here. We arrived early and dropped cases as room was not ready (as expected). The guy who tried to check us in was nice and very helpful. Upon returning we were checked in with a young lady. She was so miserable it was as if she did't want to be there! And when she asked for my id and a card deposit for possible damage was quite dreadful! The room itself was ok, but small details like bits of tissue on the carpet etc gave the impression not really as clean as it could be. The carpets were quite stained...I suppose the norm for a heavily used hotel in a city centre, but.... The real downer was breakfast. We paid the £150-160 extra for the four nights for the 2 of us. My advice is don't! The hot food, scraggy badly cooked knotted up bacon, undercooked sausages, over cooked eggs totally solid and grey. Griiled tomatoes that were simply not cooked and luke warm. We raised this issue and were told they were trained (in what?) Offered an omelette to order. My partner risked it, I didn't. It arrived, heavily browned, smelt horrible and unattractive. She ate some. I tried a mouthful and spat it out! Quite something when a "chef" can't knock up a simple omelette! The cold table was ok ish. Cheaper bakes and cheap slices of ham and cheese.. So you can eat.....but! Its a shame as this hotel is in a very good location and could be so much better. We feel a bit ripped off as I felt we paid £40 a day for a cup of coffee, a glass of squash (not real juice) and a few low quality things to pick at. Despite my complaint whilst there, no talk of refunding for breakfast costs. Finally, picking up the bags with Miss Happiness personified, was just curt. And the older lady stood behind us was ignored as she just stared at the screen (we checked out earlier, so only getting bags!) Thankfully a chap arrived to rescue the older lady! We had a lovely trip. But the hotel was an irritant. I would advise avoid and certainly do not book breakfast! If you can boil an egg, you will feel dreadfully let down given the cost!

Good but breakfast less so

On the south side of Lambeth Bridge, the hotel is in a decent location close to the Queens walk footpath and a 10 minutes walk across the bridge to the Houses of Parliament. The hotel is clean and has a good sense of calm. We had a suite on the 5th floor and the set up is great for adults with children. The only disappointment is the quality of the breakfast - felt cheap and the fried eggs in particular were like hockey pucks - solid and dry. Had only coffee and juice on the second morning and walked into the centre for breakfast where we were able to eat much better. So maybe bear all of this mind if choosing an inclusive rate. Overall though we had a good and relaxing stay.
