Not what we expected - disappointing

The second floor with two double beds was disappointing from the start. - The room was hot and stuffy when we entered; the a/c rattled all night and never worked efficiently. - The walls paper thin; could hear the movements of our neighbours and doors banging throughout the night. BATHROOM - when you see a shower curtain and a rubber non slip bath mat for the bathtub, you know it’s not going to be great. The shower head is too low, the paint is peeling off the ceiling and the body lotion was empty - the shampoo, conditioner and body wash were lovely. - towels white and soft - although there are tea and coffee making facilities there was no milk available Good location, close to city and surrounds. Our room looked nothing like those advertised, so hopefully all rooms are being refurbished

We booked a larger room as we were staying for 3 days. The room was clean, tidy and staff provided daily cleaning services. We had a lovely view over the Swan River. Breakfast was reasonable, eggs cooked as per our order and a good selection of other breakfast foods. Staff - very responsive to requests. Dinner - we ate dinner at Fenian’s Irish Pub each night. Good food, happy hour, great staff. Lifts - one was out of action on check in but on the second day lift number two was out, this left just one working lift and the hotel was busy! Yes, the hotel needs updating but all in all, it was pretty good.

I stayed at this hotel and it was an absolute nightmare. To begin with, check-in starts at 2 p.m. If you arrive earlier, they will charge you an extra fee per hour. When I finally got my room, I noticed that the rooms were outdated, but beyond that, they were poorly soundproofed. I could hear my neighbor coughing so hard it felt like he was losing his lungs. I practically felt like he was in my room. It was unbearable to sleep. To top it off, there was hair in the bathtub and, worst of all, the sheets were dirty. I called reception, and they couldn’t do anything for me. Luckily, I booked two beds and was alone, so I was able to sleep in the second one; otherwise, I would have had to sleep in dirty sheets. I spoke with someone at checkout who said they would follow up with a manager, but five days later I had no news. I was asked again to explain the problems and to attach photos, only to be told two days later that they were sorry and would take internal measures, but offered no compensation. “We’ve taken your feedback seriously and used it as an opportunity to review and improve our service standards. While I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, please note that this matter has now been reviewed and closed from our end.” In short, if you are looking for an overpriced hotel with outdated, dirty rooms, no water bottle in room and a customer service team that lacks professionalism, this is the place for you. Otherwise, there are plenty of other hotels in the city, like the Westin or the Pan Pacific just across the street, which are much better.

This is one of 2 Novotel in Perth & located in the CBD, about a 15 min walk from the more bustling shopping area. It was certainly comfortable enough with a decent bed, linens & pillows. The bathroom was quite old & jaded but clean & the shower was powerful. The Wifi was OK. Aircon was quite loud. Senses resturant food was very good & the pub was very lively with live music. The staff were very helpful & breakfast was decent. There is a special Peruvian restaurant in the hotel next door & Tempayan Bay also good about 6 min walk away

I asked 3 times to refill shower gel but no replacement until I go down to receptionist to get by myself. As a gold member Accor I also don’t get welcome amenity. I ask for slippers but no stock.
