Outstanding hotel, we stayed in 5 star hotels across Cambodia and Vietnam over the course of 3 weeks and Legend Metropole was one of the best, the level of service was outstanding, staff so welcoming and helpful - a special thanks for the private tour of the bunker and hotels fascinating history arranged because we were unable to join the standard time, our room was beautiful and I loved the drawn bath with fresh rose petals - breakfast was elegant and well judged and honestly if and when we return to Hanoi we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. It’s rare the hotel makes a trip to a city but in this case we loved Hanoi but the hotel made our trip extra special - many thanks to the staff who looked after us so well

One of the most outstanding Hotels I have ever had the pleasure to stay. Let me tell you, I am well travelled and have stayed at many 5 star resorts across the globe, and the Sofitel Metropole is up there with the very best. From the moment of arrival, the staff were outstanding . Congratulations to the management team as every single member of staff we encountered were highly enthusiastic to serve. The facilities were just beautiful and the history of the Hotel oozes through every piece of artwork . The Club facilities were incredibly generous and I highly recommend you take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy one of the best I have seen. Please do stay here on your next visits to Hanoi as you will not be disappointed! I would not consider staying at another Hotel when visiting Hanoi .

Pretty confidently I can proclaim that the Sofitel Legend Metropole was my favorite hotel on my Asia trip. There’s really no contest. I had the best time here, and it was a massive bummer I arrived late at night and had to leave the next afternoon!! - Location: The Metropole is central to just about anywhere you’d want to visit in Hanoi. Walk or take a Grab; it’s your choice. A few hundred meters away is a neat public plaza area, and many restaurants and high-end shops are in the neighborhood. You definitely won’t forget you have money to spend (or in my case, trying not to spend much more after splurging for this experience!). - Atmosphere: I’m a historic hotel buff you might say, and the Metropole charms and dazzles with French-colonial textures, surfaces, and furnishings, all put together immaculately for the contemporary guest. There’s a luxurious courtyard area with shady relaxation spots and impressive views of the property’s timeless architecture. I can’t do the vibe justice…you need to see for yourself. Everywhere you turn you will feel transported back in time. - Service: The whole team at the Sofitel strives for excellence and achieves it effortlessly. As to be expected at such an iconic luxury accommodation. - Room: Here’s where it truly blew me away. Few historic hotels present and maintain their rooms in such an elegant, tributing, yet polished way. History didn’t result in neglect, and it didn’t stay neutral; it elevated the whole space unlike any other place could’ve achieved. Shiny wooden floors, a grand bed frame, sumptuous bedding and pillows, glossy bathroom finishes, fresh red curtains…the character in this room is so memorable. And the soundproofing…I was concerned as they placed me in the very last room available that night that faced the street, but I heard absolutely nothing. I still would’ve liked a courtyard-facing room, which I reserved online in advance, but this only room available was a premium upgrade and delivered spectacularly, so I had no grievances. - Amenities: There are a few on-site restaurants, an outdoor pool in the courtyard, event spaces (for events like a gala that was ongoing while I was there, explaining the completely full occupancy), and countless more guest perks I can’t comprehensively list here. After checkout, I lounged for hours by the pool and ate at the poolside restaurant…it was a vibe. I loved it. - Value: I am not wealthy, so I physically wouldn’t be able to stay here longer than one or two nights on any given trip. However, hunt for deals on the Accor app (as Sofitel is part of Accor) and you may get lucky with a 200-300 USD rate. The price I found was 316 for my single night…considering the surprise upgrade due to occupancy needs and how marvelous my stay was as a whole, I deem that cost very worthwhile.

Unfortunately we weren’t staying at the hotel as it was a little too highly priced for us but we do like to visit nice hotels and have a drink and a coffee which we did it’s the host is beautifully appointed with a really interesting history service was excellent and friendly. It was a nice jazz band playing and we got talking to singer who was from Hungary. I wish you won’t be going back to Hanoi again but the Sofitel chain really is very excellent.
