A Stay of a Lifetime

Have stayed at other Sofitel Legend Hotels and the Metropole is one I will not soon forget. Recently spent 2 amazing nights in the Heritage Wing. From the moment I arrived to the moment I had to unfortunately check out everything was absolutely perfect. My room was beautifully decorated in a decor style appropriate with the history of the hotel. The bathroom was well appointed and spacious. The breakfast buffet included everything you could possibly want; to fuel you for a full day of sightseeing in Hanoi and even more. Do not miss signing up for a tour of the hotel's bomb shelter, utilized by Joan Baez during the 1972 Christmas bombing of Hanoi. I unfortunately do not remember the names of each staff member with whom I engaged with but just know there is nothing they are not willing to do to make your stay a lifetime memory. Thank you Sofitel Legend Metrople for making my time in Hanoi unforgettable.

A peaceful retreat amidst the city chaos

Stayed for 3 nights in total, 1 night upon our arrival in Vietnam then split by a HaLong Bay 2 night cruise and we returned for a further 2 nights. The hotel kindly looked after our luggage so that we were able to travel with just our rucksacks for our cruise. Staff - friendly , considerate , polite and helpful. Rooms - we had 2 different rooms, both were beautifully equipped, clean and well maintained. Super bathroom and a turndown service. Comfortable beds. Quiet rooms, no corridor noise or traffic. Ambience - we absolutely loved the historic feel of the hotel especially in the Heritage Wing. Breakfast in the conservatory is delightful - even when raining outside! Food - breakfast is excellent. Superb choice. Very good coffee. Good service. We really loved the Pistachio Croissants! On 2 evenings we chose to eat in the Bamboo Bar, informal and open air. Absolutely loved it - friendly service, delicious food ( Pho and Spring Rolls were taste tested!) and Great cocktails. History - we took the bunker tour which was very interesting We would return here in a heartbeat - it’s unlikely that we will do but this hotel will live long in our memories. Thank You

Top-notch Hotel

don’t normally write hotel reviews, but I felt compelled to write this one because the service at the Metropole was better than any other hotel I’ve stayed at (and I have traveled to over 30 countries). Despite booking the least expensive room, I still felt I was treated like a king. This includes bellhops who offered to help me find my tour guide, the waiters at the breakfast restaurant who remembered my name and order, the concierge who helped me get front row tickets to a water puppet show, and the front desk assistant who helped me find an ideal pillow for my room. Aside from the above and beyond service, the hotel was also conveniently located near the old quarter/various attractions. The food at the restaurants was of high quality. And the room decor was very classy. Staying at this hotel greatly improved my experience in Hanoi and I will absolutely stay here again.

A perfect oasis in the vibrant city of Hanoi

The Sofitel Hanoi has been on my list to stay at for as many years as I was hoping to visit Vietnam. When you look forward to something so much there is always a chance that it doesn’t quite meet your expectations. Well this is not the case. I was simply delighted at every stage of my stay. From the moment my husband and I arrived and were greeted by the hotels Guest Relations Manager I knew I we were going to be very well taken care of. Check-in was a breeze. It was a privilege to have a room on the Executive Lounge Floor. The staff made us feel like family, greeting us by name at every opportunity. Minh and Giang provided service that was both genuine and attentive. Food both in the Executive Lounge and hotel restaurants was on point at every experience. When you have been out all day in one of the most vibrant and fascinating cities in the world it’s wonderful to come back to a perfect city oasis, that provides luxury and warmth. The Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi is not just a place to stay, it’s an experience in itself.
