Lovely stay

Stayed for 1 night as seeing a concert in the Guildhall. Managed an early check In at 1.45 .very friendly receptionist . Room was small but spotlessly clean. Very quiet and had a great nights sleep. Nice bar area with a table to charge your phone. 5 ☆

Smallest Bathroom I've Ever Seen In My Life

This hotel has literally the smallest bathroom I've ever seen. How did they even approve such design? There is not even enough room to sit properly on the bog! I had to sit sideways(first time ever) to take a dump! For the high price you pay, you get such compact room and the smallest ever bathroom. Book elsewhere.

too noisy

rooms are clean, tv works, bathroom is tiny, but clean and functional. The main problem is that none of the other guests go to sleep at a sensible time and you can hear everything from the adjoining rooms. It was basically impossible to sleep normally here for half of the days I stayed here. I wouldn’t book again here for this reason.

VERY compact but we enjoyed our stay

We arrived at 2pm on Sunday 17th November 2024, for one night, and were able to check in immediately, which surprised us greatly as check in was 3pm. We were allocated a twin room - #211 at the back of the hotel - which although small [which I already knew] was very clean. The bathroom [which has a porthole window - nice touch] is extremely compact, and to be honest, I would not recommend it for anybody considered to be 'oversize' e.g., a heavyweight boxer! The toilet is very, very close to the hand basin and the shower is much smaller than expected. Unfortunately we had an issue with water not wanting to drain from our hand basin but we reported it so hopefully that is now fixed. The bathroom door, when open, also prohibits space but is doable! We both found the beds and pillows to be exceptionally comfortable and had a great night's sleep. There was also a full length mirror [yay], a USB charger plug, tea & coffee and full sized mugs. The TV was huge. The lobby/ bar area is vast, very modern and has a nice fish tank in there. Parking is at the back of the hotel and although costly at £12 per 24 hours, does mean your car is on site. There is also a back entrance from the car park into the hotel. There are a few bars [where you can get food] located a couple of minutes walk from the hotel in Guildhall Way, one of which we found to be extremely nice - The Brewhouse & Kitchen. All in all for the price we paid [booked in advance] we were very happy with our stay and would certainly stay there again. I knocked a star off due to the hand basin issue and cost of parking. I haven't added any photos, as others on here show the rooms and bathrooms.

Portsmouth stopover

This hotel is ideal for an overnight stopover, situated close to the university facilities, main railway station and the town centre. The whole place is clean and dry. However, the bedrooms are small and badly sound-proofed, but te windows do open so you get freah air instead of recycled stale air conditioned germs! The food service is adequate (but no black pudding included in the cooked breakfast and no fruit salad).
