Unprofessional Front Desk Staff yelled at customer

I have struggled a bit whether to share the unpleasant incident here, as I am not a person who usually give bad review. However, I decided to do so as I believe all people paying to stay at a hotel expect certain level of professionalism from staff at the front desk, particularly towards senior. We as a family reserved 2 rooms at this hotel and stayed for 3 nights before taking the cruise. We were very happy to find out that the hotel would give out £5 F&B Voucher each day to guest choosing to skip housekeeping to save water and be environmental friendly. The specific note per attached is "F&B voucher to be used at the hotel of issue during current stay". For the good cause and for economic benefits, we decided to skip all room cleaning for 2 rooms all 3 nights by putting the specific sign out at the door per the instructions on the exact sign. On the last day we checked out, the lady at front desk wearing a pin of Canada flag (she didn't wear name tag) refused to give us the voucher for 3 nights claiming the voucher must be claimed and used everyday. When my sister tried to show her the exact terms of that sign on the screen capture on her phone and my Dad tried to explain our understanding, that front desk staff refused to look at the sign by putting her hand out and pushing my sister's phone away. Then, my Dad became so frustrated with her attitude and behavior; he raised his voice to her. To everyone's surprise, that front desk staff raised her voice to my Dad as well and claimed my Dad had threw thing at her face. I asked the manager to do 3 things: check the footage at surveillance camera to see what really happened, train staff with minimum professionalism expected from general hospitality (attitude and behavior), talk to their marketing department to change the verbiage on the sign from "current stay" to "every day of the current stay and guest must go to front desk everyday to claim voucher." Front Desk Staff (one lady wearing a pin of Canadian flag, without name tag) was not professional with the minimum standard of general hospitality.. Under no circumstances should someone at that position raise her voice and screame at customer, particularly at senior.

Nice stay at a decent hotel perfectly located to the cruise port and city center

Need a hotel for a 1 day early arrival for a Norway Cruise. The Southampton Cruise Port terminal listed several hotels near the port at different budget levels. Since I needed 2 rooms and could not splurge i selected this hotel. It was conveniently located as it was an easy walk to the City Cruise terminal and to the Southampton City Center to see the main tourist sights. The staff was friendly and attentive. I chose this hotel because they offered a breakfast buffet. At a charge. The sister hotel called budget did not. There was a higher end hotel call novotel that I believe has the breakfast buffet included. All 3 hotels are clustered together. When we arrived after our international flight, we dropped off our luggage, got a map from the hotel attendant, and a suggestion as to which direction to head off to first. Note: The rooms do NOT have AC. The windows do open, with a safety latch to keep the window from opening completely.

Stayed after Isle of wight festival. I was looking forward to a nice bed, shower and air con after the festival. Room was small but adequate, could not sleep as the aircon was sooo bad! The room was 28'c at midnight with the aircon on! Thankfully the windows opened slightly. Breakfast was the only good thing, but the reason you book is to sleep. I would not stay here again and recommend booking elsewhere! Booked through the Accor App, with breakfast although the receptionist said I hadn't. Disappointed I wasted my points and cash on this hotel! I'd like my points and money refunded!

Horrible hot room , hell on earth. 28c at pm. No phone to call reception. Horrid experience. Sweating like a fat lass in a chip shop with no money.

The beds, you can feel every spring in them, the A/C didn’t work, no fridge or safe, no tissues. Spend $40 more and stay at the Novatel next door.
