A budget hotel, but not at budget hotel prices.

A mixed review for this hotel in a really accessible spot in the centre of Brussels. We arrived early and were welcomed by very pleasant staff and were allowed early into our rooms. Regrettably, although available on the computer, the room had not been cleaned following the previous guests. No problem, back to reception, the error was corrected and another room was found. Well done. Next, and in keeping with other reviews of this hotel, we found the room to be small and the bathroom tiny. At the prices charged, we anticipated significantly more space. Room and bathroom were clean. A budget hotel but not a budget prices. Room temperature... Although we attempted to reduce the room temperature, and reflecting that you do not expect to need air conditioning in November, we could not find a way to make this room comfortable for us. This was worse at night and we felt we were sleeping in a blast furnace! With the window open, the temperature improved but sleep was destroyed. The road noise throughout the night was extremely disturbing. Firstly there was constant loud chatter from outside reception where smokers congregated, later at 2.00/2.30am there were deliveries/collections of laundry being trundled across cobbled stones, and then (and the hotel is not to blame for this), roadworks with cutting tools started just after 6.30 in the morning. Heat and noise made sleep almost impossible for us and 3 nights later, we were glad to get home to some peace! Finally, most hotels of this nature have tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. It seems this is hit and miss in Ibis. My daughters room had these facilities. Our room did not. I did ask for a kettle at reception, not realising that I also needed to ask for cups, coffees, teas, etc. The kettle did turn up, but remained unused as the hotel did not have the foresight to think coffee etc. might also be needed! Breakfast was pleasant but chaotic. A good but confused selection of foods. In summation, great location, clean, overheated and noisy, very expensive for a budget hotel.

We have stayed in a number of different Ibis hotels this year and I have to say this was the worst! The room was small, the bathroom minute and the lift appeared to be made of chipboard. It was very shabby and completely overpriced. And to add insult to injury they did not recognise my status and offer me my welcome drink- I had to ask for it! I don't recommend.

Good location neat to Sainte Catherine's Metro station. Just be aware that there is a lot of road construction nearby at the moment. 5 minute walk to the Grande Place and lots of restaurants nearby. Rooms are basic Ibis rooms and the bathrooms are quite small but functional. Our biggest complaint was that the aircon did not work and the rooms were very hot. We could not leave the windows open as there was some passing noise as it was a Saturday night. Breakfast is also the standard Ibis buffet, with a wide choice. Hotels near the centre of Brussels are very expensive and I would choose the Ibis again as it was pretty good value for its location.

Fantastic location., it is right across from the bus/train and metro station. There are people around the hotel at all hours of the day but it’s not surprising considering it is a prime location. but we felt totally safe. Wonderful rooms, just the right size and with enough amenities to make our stay comfortable. They had a room capable of storing our luggage but they forced us to purchase lockers first

Okno mojego pokoju wychodziło na głośną ulicę, łazienka niedoczyszczona, w pokoju kurz w zakamarkach. Pościel i ręczniki czyste, śniadanie królewskie - to najmocniejszy atut hotelu.
