We recently returned from a rugby weekend in Bordeaux where we stayed at the Mercure Bordeaux Centre Ville on a B&B basis. We arrived on the tram from the airport, getting off at Meriadeck. We were warmly greeted by Elliott who provided a map and circled areas of local interest. The hotel room was warm and clean, only issue was water escaping from the bath when showering, but this is quite a common experience for showers over baths. Breakfast is a buffet affair, with plenty of choice. The hotel must be popular due to the numbers of people having breakfast and yet the hotel was not noisy. We saw Elliott most times when we were going out to explore and he would always enquire what we had done and thought of his City. Bordeaux is a lovely city full of history and stunning architecture, where we would not hesitate to return to and stay at the Mercure Bordeaux Centre Ville again, as we found it to be near enough to the centre to walk. Thanks to Elliott, for listening to us and providing places to visit of interest to us!

Nice, clean and spacious hotel room. Friendly English speaking staff whom were happy to give us advice on where to go. Other reviews stating the location is not central and not a nice area I do not agree with. The hotel is approximately a 10 minute walk to the centre or a short tram. If you walk out of the hotel and turn left to walk into the centre it avoids the “dodgy” area. Easy access directly from the airport via Tram A which took around 30 minutes. Cannot complain if you do not mind a short walk to the centre.

This is a hard pass for me, although lobby looks nice we found the hotel rooms to be not so great. Everyone seemed worn and in need of a face lift. Carpets were worn and dirty and just nor clean. Location is somewhat dodgy. I would recommend finding another hotel in the heart of Bordeaux. This hotels location was out of the way

We arrived on a Saturday with a bus tour of 45 ppl. In addition to our group, the hotel had many other guests. Unfortunately, they were not staffed to accommodate the amount of ppl checked into the hotel for drinks or dinner. Only one person was working in the restaurant/bar area, AND he was also responsible for making the salads and pizza ( only items we could order). We did venture out to find a restaurant, but it was crowded in old town, so we decided to return and went to Black n White Burger. There is graffiti on the building, and the streets around the hotel smell and are gross. The room itself was disgusting. Stains or curtains, shower leaked, so much so I had to request xtra towels to soak up the water. Don't even get me started on breakfast. The setup was deplorable. The utensils for serving food looked like they were used the day before. Food options gross....would never return.

Great sights to see in a very busy city but our hotel was in the wrong part of town for us. Too far away from the centre

The hotel Mercure is described as central. IT is not central!! it it situated in at least a hard 10 minute walk away from the sights through a run down and scary looking area especially at night where you can easily get completely lost and we were constantly approached by people asking for money. The streets in that part called Meriadeck were dirty, smelly, run down, weeds growing everywhere in a 100% dystopian and concrete jungle.

Hello, We regret that you did not appreciate the location of our hotel. It's located in the Mériadeck business district, just a 5-minute walk from Place Gambetta and Bordeaux's pedestrian center. Despite this, we hope that the services provided by our establishment have lived up to your expectations. Sincerely
