Great hotel in a quiet area but easily accessible to the downtown area of Bordeaux.

Hotel is in a good location. Easy to get to from the airport using the tram, just jump on the A tram right outside the airport and get off at Stalingrad tram stop. The hotel is 5 mins walk just around the corner and vice versa when returning to the airport. Probably the easiest transport link we have used in a long time. Hotel is situated in a good area. Easy to walk into the main area of Bordeaux. On foot it took us approximately 20-30 mins. Lots of restaurants, bars in the main area as well as historical sites. Room in the hotel was sufficient. Very clean with a good shower and a comfortable bed. There was a hairdryer in the bathroom which was ideal when travelling light. The only thing that let it down was there was no tea/ coffee facilities in the room but we knew this before we booked. Also that probably keeps it a low cost hotel. There is a lovely bakery called Qu4tre-Qu4rts just a few doors down that opens at 7am - 8pm every day apart from Sundays when they close. Highly recommend this bakery. Also a Carrefour market just behind the bakery. Overall a great hotel in a quiet location and would recommend to anyone visiting Bordeaux.

Perfect stay! Dog friendly and kids friendly

What a fantastic hotel. Dog friendly, clean, has games for the kids and a bar open. There's also a water station. Staff was friendly. Everything was great. We were unlucky that they were doing work on the main bridge to go into the old town, so we had to walk the length of the bridge under scorching sun with no shade, but a tram would have usually connected both sides of the town, so definitely use the tram to cross the bridge as it's a long way if you need to walk under the hot sun.

Stains in the bedroom and hotel reception. The standard of cleanlinessis very poor.

I don’t recommend staying at this hotel. The curtain in my room had a stain. The floor and seats at the hotel reception had stains too. I have provided photos to show this. I believe this is seen as acceptable at this hotel. The room was worn out, there were scuff marks on the wall and headboard of the bed. The bathroom looked clean but had a bad smell, even after being cleaned. Your room won’t be cleaned regularly unless you ask for this, and I don’t mean changing sheets, I mean cleaning the room in general. I didn’t have much interaction with hotel staff but they were polite for the brief moments I spoke with them. The only good thing was the breakfast. The state of cleanliness for this standard of hotel was shocking and I advise others not to stay here.

Well priced hotel in what felt like a safe quiet area and short 10 minute walk across the bridge to the old town of Bordeaux. The reason we picked the hotel was because we wanted somewhere with good parking for our car. The parking is in the Carrefour underground parking and the Ibis spaces are marked with red circles. You could get several spaces in between pillars which kept your car safe from being pranged by other peoples doors. Access was then up the elevator into the reception area. Make sure you get the correct car park as there are 2 next to each other. Get a parking ticket on entry and pay at the hotel, they will also validate it when you leave. The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly and spoke good English. Breakfast was very good. Our only negative was that although the room was clean and had everything you needed for a short stay, looks like all the Ibis have these awful mattress protectors which make you extremely hot, like sleeping on a radiator, made worse by the fact that when we stayed here the temperature was almost in the 30’s and also the air conditioning could not really cope with this which we found at another Ibis we stayed at earlier on in the week. We ended up opening the window which was fine except for the fact we let the mosquitoes in and got badly bitten by them. I reviewed the other Ibis we stayed in at La Rochelle and would have given them both 5 stars if it were not for the mattress protector and air con, something that Ibis really should get sorted, to be honest it would put us off staying at another in the future.

Decided on a last minute weekend to Bordeaux due to bargain flights so we needed a budget hotel to keep the weekend inexpensive. The budget ibis next door to this Ibis in the Bastide area was a little too basic so we opted for it’s next door neighbour. I’d recently stayed in an ibis in Sheffield and it was identical! Reception was bright and clean and the reception staff over our 3 day stay were friendly, helpful and all spoke decent English. There is a bar area behind reception. The lifts require a key card which is nice security feature as the area could be considered a little sketchy in parts. My room was clean, comfortable and minimalist. The bed was comfortable, good WiFi in the room, plug points by the bedside, shower gel and hand wash in the shower. There are no drawers and (to my friend’s chagrin) no tea making facilities or a mini fridge. The bathrooms are like little capsules in the rooms, a step up inside, compact and again, clean. The cleaner did throw away a couple of bits that I wanted to keep (water bottle I was planning to refill etc), so a little too thorough! My room (310) was pretty quiet, could hear people in the corridor in the mornings but not really anything at night and definitely couldn’t hear next door. My friend said her double bed was 2 beds pushed together so she kept sinking into the middle (309). She did mention it at check out and they said they would have changed her room had she met them know. There’s a locked luggage room in reception which staff were happy to let us use on our last day when we had a late flight. The hotel is in a pretty good spot. It’s about a 15 min walk over the bridge to the city centre (turn right out of the hotel). There’s a good supermarket next door (20c for a 1.5l bottle of water), a bakery that looked great, a gym and a cash machine. At the end of the road there’s a multiplex cinema and if you turn left towards the bridge there’s the Stalingrad tram/bus stop on a square which has a couple of bars and restaurants. If you turn right there are some lovely restaurants along the river and the view in the evening is great. Overall good location, decent price, comfortable room.
