Get a ground floor room if you don't like stairs.

Hotel is located a little out of the city port and center. We had a car so it was easy to drive into town. Free carpark provided at the hotel. Typical Ibis Red, rooms clean, small and comfortable. Compact toilet / shower but all worked well. We did not opt for daily breakfast with the room, but had the buffet breakfast once at a charge of Euro9 per head. It is substantial and if you start late, you can eat enough to last you over lunch, which we did. I had read that it has no elevator and asked for a ground floor room, which they obliged us as stairs are challenge for me. Short drive into town and pleased that Setubal has ample parking places everywhere for free and these places are just next to highlights of Setubal.

Ok for a solo trip but not a family trip

The staff from hotel were friendly. The hotel is a little bit off the beaten track and as we had no car, we had to use bolt there is not much in the area except houses. The room was very dated and a little to small for two adults and a child. The breakfast was ok but sum what limited in choice. We cut our reservation short by two days to go to another hotel as this was a for a family vacation and the room was really to small. if I was working in the area on my own I would stay again but for a family, the rooms are very small. The area is very quite,but the hotel through the night was noisy with banging doors in the corridor at strange times.

Comfortable stay in Setubal

It was a nice, comfortable stay at the hotel in January 2024. The staff was nice and always helpful, assisting when needed, like in getting a taxi or borrowing an iron. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed and sheets. The only thing missing was a fridge/minibar and the pool was closed, obviously as it was January. And the city center/downtown is not close to the hotel as in walking distance, you should get a taxi or Uber which is like less than a 10 minutes drive.

The IBIS sign, mounted on a tower, is easily visible from the main road, which makes it easy to find Arrived in heavy rain - the spacious parking is near the front door, but there is also a useful portico to unload bags. There is a useful snack bar with a good menu, swift service There is a computer work station. Good friendly reception staff, who know the area and were able to make local excellent recommendations and provide a street map! Good parking. Good breakfast. Swimming pool. My room was clean & quiet.

I have just returned from this hotel and I could not fault it in regard to the hotel cleanliness and hospitality. Most of the hotel staff have good English and are there if you need any help or if you need to order a cab. The continental breakfast was lovely with lots of food on offer. Good beer and lovely seating area around the pool for rest and a chill. Do not buy food as an evening meal as these are just ready meal and are not nice, no fresh food prepared here. The reason why I gave it 4 stars is that the hotel is in the middle of no where. There are no convenience shops, no bus routes, no trains. If you need to go some where or go out for the day you need to order a cab/taxi. The hotel is on the main motorway so you are unable to walk anywhere as it is dangerous. If you are just needing a rest and are not planning on going out of the hotel it's highly recommended but for sight seeing of Setubal, I would try a different hotel unless you have spare money for cabs.
