The welcome we received on our arrival just made us feel at home.The check in was quick and easy as we tires from being all day at the zoo.The staff were excellent and very helpful. I do not hesitate to recommend anyone at the hotel at any reasonable time.Is located right inthe middle of the town centre and parking available.We also enjoyed the breakfast which was a buffet

Road works and constant drilling

Getting to the hotel by car was a nightmare as large parts of Broad Street are closed with roadworks to install a new tram system. While this isn’t the fault of the hotel it would have been helpful if an email with clear directions had been sent out after booking as the diversion signs are useless. When w3 arrived at the hotel there was a sign in reception warning guests that new TVs were being installed and that there may be occasional drilling noises between 9.00 and 17.00. The drilling was constant and was accompanied by loud hammering noises (presumably when rawlplugs were being hammered into the newly drilled walls. The drilling was still going on at 17.30 when we left our room. If we had known in advance that significant work was going on in the hotel we would probably have booked somewhere different.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Novotel. I can assure you that we take our guest's comments very seriously as we strive to continuously improve the service of the hotel. Please accept my apologies for the noise due to the maintenance works being carried out in the hotel which will end by 26th March. However, I will address your comments with the relevant departments and can assure you that constructive action will be taken to minimise the noise and that it finishes at 17:00 sharply. Moreover, I would suggest to always check road works on your route and local travel restrictions before starting your journey. Not the best Novotel

We have stayed in 3 Novotels in six weeks, this one came 3rd! Poorly staffed, although the staff were extremely pleasant, there just wasn't enough to deal with the crowds. Apparently, they were not aware of a concert that was in the major venue 10 minutes walk from the hotel! Not the greatest breakfast either, there wasn't much fresh fruit, the serving area was small and cramped and only one drinks machine. We had an Executive Room which needed updating. The bathroom was lovely but the separate toilet was scary! It was like sitting in a prison toilet! The hotel was brilliantly situated. For that reason, I would probably stay again if visiting Birmingham.

I have stayed here a couple of times, but wouldn't put it on my list of favourites. The front desk service is very polite, the rooms were clean and well appointed and there is an underground car park. The "upgrade" to a superior room is not worth the price - unless you desperately need a dressing gown and coffee pod machine for the night. The rooms all appear to be the same size - small. The restaurant is impersonal - I've been in better Ibis facilities - and the bar is no better. Again, the service was good, but the hotel does not feel inviting. I should also add that the car park only has stair access, so tough luck if you are disabled or have heavy luggage. Even if the lift did go down to the basement there is a 6" to 8" step between the car park and the stairwell. To cap it all, 2 weeks later I am still waiting for them to provide me with correct invoices.

Been in this novotel maybe 20 times in past 15years. Location in broadstreet is good, lot of restaurants on area. Especilly best italian in town Del Villaggio. 12minutes walk from new street. Price was rather cheap in january. Hotel is nice but rooms starts to need something new.
