Depressing and cold room looked like something out of Black Mirror!

The location is great and close to the O2 and at least it was clean, BUT the room — well if the reception and the hallways are more warm and inviting than the rooms, then that's a serious red flag for me! I got into the room and my heart sunk. The decor was grey, depressing and a cold VINYL floor in the sleeping area. Who wants to get up in the morning and stand straight onto a cold floor? And the room was a bit on the chilly side and the only way to heat it up was with a NOISY integrated fan heating system which is like a loud hair dryer. And a sign saying something like "if you find the heating system inadequate, then we can provide a small fan heater", that's pretty telling that the "powers that be" know the room isn't fit for purpose. The bathroom felt like one of those portable shower cubicles you see at festivals and the flush broke on the toilet. One saving grace was the staff were helpful and got straight to fixing it, but even the best customer service doesn't change the fact the room was cold, depressing and looked like something out of Black Mirror. This is a 3 star hotel and I've slept in Travelodge rooms more inviting than this, and they at least have CARPETS. I paid for 2 days in advance on the saver rate, but I decided to pack up and go elsewhere (I've never done that before by the way). In short, I don't expect luxury at that price, but if the hallways are more inviting than the room, then there's something seriously wrong here. Sure, I might have asked if there was a better room available, but if they think it's ok to charge £120 a night for what I got, then I'm taking my business elsewhere!

Our rooms feature vinyl flooring because it provides a more hygienic and allergen-friendly environment compared with carpets. However, I understand that it can feel less warm underfoot, and I am sorry this affected your comfort. I would also like to clarify that our rooms are equipped with an air-cooling system rather than traditional air conditioning. This type of system provides gentle temperature regulation but can feel different from a full air-conditioning unit, particularly on warmer or cooler days. I am sorry that this did not provide the level of comfort you expected. Your feedback is important to us, and we are reviewing your comments carefully as part of our ongoing improvements, including room ambience and temperature efficiency. Regarding rates, we aim to offer good value for the area and the season, but I understand why you chose to continue your stay elsewhere. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve, and I hope you might consider giving us another opportunity in the future to provide a better experience. We stayed here for a coach trip to see Abba Voyage. Our room was tiny and had a very musty smell on entry. It was however clean and the beds are comfy - that’s the main thing! The carpet in corridor’s etc of the rooms had seen better days, and again, there was a very musty smell. The lift was only used by us once as it didn’t feel very safe. The restaurant for breakfast was a lovely setting in comparison and the breakfast itself was tasty. One huge positive of the hotel is its location, very central to all of Greenwich shops, attractions and tube/water bus. All in all, it’s not a hotel I would recommend, but it did the job for one night and would stay again if there’s nothing else available.

This is our Second Ibis experience and clearly they have got it right. We arrived on 12th as part of a coach party, they had our rooms ready for booking so we then enjoy time to tour round the lovely markets. Before going onto our show. The was spacious, clean and everything you need to make a short stay comfortable. All the staff were very helpful and friendly breakfast was excellent. Well done oh and loved the robot.

Stayed here for one night, came from France to see a concert in the O2 and wanted to stay in the area for the night. The hotel was everything I needed, clean, comfy and pleasant. It has a very nice decor, both the lobby and the room itself, and the location is ideal - right at the heart of Greenwich, walking distance from all the main attractions of this area which I visited in the morning after the concert. Perfect short stay, great sleep and shower, awesome Greenwich experience.

This hotel provides great value for the money, we enjoyed our stay. The reception staff were all very welcoming and helpful, we were able to leave our suitcase on the day we left for £3. Our room wasn’t huge but it was plenty big enough for the two of us for two nights. I was so pleased to see that the windows opened instead of air conditioning, we were at the front of the hotel but didn’t find it noisy and who doesn’t like to wake up being able to see trees out of the window. I was a little worried about the bathroom as others found theirs small but ours was ok and had a large shower, plenty of towels, body wash and shampoo. The best thing about the hotel is the location, close to everything and a short walk from the underground, we didn’t have breakfast but had two coffees and two croissants for £5.22 at the university opposite 😁
