Das Hotel ist für einen Kurztrip absolut ausreichend. Zimmer ausreichend groß. Alle Angestellten (auch im angrenzenden Banana-Restaurant) sehr freundlich! Die Klimaanlage war hilfreich. Wir fanden das Frühstück gut. Negativ: Keine Safes im gesamten Hotel. Wertsachen konnte man nur bei der Rezeption hinterlassen. Keine kleinen Handtücher, nur große Duschhandtücher. Gepäckaufbewahrung für 3 Pfund pro Koffer ist zu teuer!

Ich habe im Juli zwei Nächte gemeinsam mit meinem Ehemann in diesem Hotel verbracht. Da wir mitten im Sommer gereist sind, war uns eine Klimaanlage besonders wichtig. Deshalb habe ich bei der Buchung ausdrücklich darauf geachtet, dass diese in der Zimmerbeschreibung aufgeführt war. Umso enttäuschter waren wir, als sich herausstellte, dass es sich dabei nicht um eine Klimaanlage, sondern lediglich um ein Lüftungssystem handelte, das im Sommer Luft und im Winter warme Luft ausbläst. Das Zimmer wurde dadurch jedoch keineswegs gekühlt. Auch die Belüftung insgesamt war unzureichend. Das Zimmer wurde schnell stickig und zeitweise zog sogar Essensgeruch hinein. Das Fenster ließ sich lediglich etwa 5 cm öffnen, sodass ein richtiges Lüften kaum möglich war. Für zwei Personen war das Zimmer außerdem deutlich zu klein. Da man in London ohnehin die meiste Zeit unterwegs ist, wäre das für mich noch zu verschmerzen gewesen – leider gab es jedoch weitere Mängel. Die Sauberkeit ließ zu wünschen übrig. Das Waschbecken hatte Flecken, die wie dauerhafte Verschmutzungen wirkten, und in den Fugen des Badezimmers war Schimmel sichtbar. Außerdem lagen bei unserer Ankunft lediglich zwei große Handtücher im Zimmer. Weitere Handtücher mussten wir erst über den Zimmerservice anfordern. Die drei Sterne vergebe ich ausschließlich für das freundliche Personal und die gute Lage. Greenwich ist ein wunderschöner Stadtteil, und sowohl die DLR als auch die Thameslink-Station waren in etwa 5–8 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Ich habe mich bewusst für eine Hotelkette entschieden, weil ich dort einen gewissen Mindeststandard erwarte. Mir ist bewusst, dass ich kein Luxushotel gebucht habe. Ein sauberes Zimmer, ausreichend Handtücher und eine funktionierende Klimaanlage – insbesondere wenn diese in der Buchungsbeschreibung ausdrücklich aufgeführt wird – halte ich jedoch für eine berechtigte Erwartung.
