The hotel has excellent facilities, and the breakfast was very delicious. The outdoor swimming pool is also great for photos. The location is in the heart of Seoul, making it easy to get around anywhere. I definitely want to visit again next time.

Lovely Stay but not Quite a 5-Star Experience

My wife and I, along with my sister and brother-in-law recently travelled to Seoul, South Korea for the first time. Our stay at The Ambassador was a good one. First Impressions The hotel is clearly popular, as it was fully booked during our stay. It appears to be equally fantastic for both business and leisure (we came for leisure). We arrived around 10:45 AM, and while early check-in wasn’t available, we were lucky enough to wait in my sister and brother-in-law’s room until ours was ready (they had arrived the day before). The check-in process was more efficient than it was friendly I'd say. It definitely could have done with more smiles and warmth. That said, the hotel's modern ambience, lovely interior and courteous staff boosted the first impressions. The Room We stayed in a Namsan room with a beautiful view of Namsan mountain. The room's design was modern and thoughtful, with a lot of automated features like curtains, light controls, and wireless charging on the bedside tables—a particularly handy addition. The heated toilet with automatic flushing was a pleasant luxury, and bottled water was replenished daily. However, housekeeping fell short during our first three days. First off, only the beds are changed/made up; towels and tissue paper replaced; bottled water replaced. No vacuum cleaning was done (crumbs from a previous night's take away were still very much present; amongst other things like threads); all 3 used glasses were left exactly were they were; the bathtub, used the night before, was not cleaned (residue was present); an ice bucket from the night before was left were we had left it i.e. on the bathroom sink; the sink itself was not cleaned; the iron and ironing board we had used were left as is, as opposed to being neatly kept to one side. It wasn’t the level of attention expected at a 5-star hotel. However, once we registered a complaint, the issues were swiftly addressed. The hotel appeared to assume we would request cleaning as needed due to our 12-night stay, but this wasn’t communicated clearly. Another drawback was the air conditioning, which was inconsistent, especially during the early hours when the room became uncomfortably warm. Location As a first time visitor to South Korea/Seoul, the hotel's location is its strongest asset. It's beautifully situated and centrally located, with easy access to the metro, popular neighborhoods, and plenty of convenience stores nearby. A 10 to 25 minute walk will get you to most places nearby. Despite the uphill walk to the hotel—a challenge in Seoul's humidity—the convenience of the location makes it hard for us to imagine staying anywhere else on future trips. Dining and Amenities Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to try the hotel’s restaurants, bars, or amenities as we spent most of our time exploring Seoul and South Korea. However, my wife, sister, and brother-in-law enjoyed breakfast on a few occasions and spoke highly of it. Tips - Avoid rooms directly across from storage units on each floor i.e. 201, 301, 401, 501 etc as noise and activity can be slightly disruptive. - Bring an adapter/converter for chargers, as wall sockets differ from those in the UK. - All staff spoke excellent English, which made communication seamless, and guest services were prompt and efficient. - A special mention goes to Samuel, an Australian staff member who truly stood out. His helpfulness, knowledge, and ever-present smile were a delight throughout our stay. Final Thoughts The hotel’s location and convenience were major highlights for us, however, there are one too many details that fall short of a 5-star experience. As lovely as the hotel is, especially following its recent renovation, these oversights are hard to ignore. That said, for a centrally located base in Seoul, I can't think of a better location for both business and leisure travelers. First time or otherwise

It was my first time visiting for a family staycation, and it truly lived up to its reputation. As we entered the room, the curtains opened to reveal a view of Dongdaemun, and the night view was absolutely stunning. The room was spotless, and we had a wonderfully relaxing stay. I would definitely consider visiting again.

I had a wonderful experience at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel in Jangchung-dong. The hotel offers excellent facilities, blending modern luxury with comfort.
