Overall we enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Cleaniness was high, breakfast was fresh and adequate other than they provided no low fat spread for bread. All staff friendly and helpful. Maintenance problems were dealt with very quickly and the location is excellent. However, there were some unexpected issues. The shower cubicle floor was very slippery and therefore dangerous. We went and bought two shower mats that solved this problem. It should be noted that there is a balcony but only room to stand not sit and there was only one chair in the room. The hotel, I believe has 80 rooms but there was only one lift and that carried just five people.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Don’t think there is anything to complain about with this hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the balconies make a good addition to the features. It’s perfectly located for the city centre and all the major sites. Breakfast is standard euro hotel breakfast but there’s plenty of it and the dining room is relaxed and spacious. It could do with a freshen up and a bit of paint and TLC but it’s clean comfortable and well located. The staff are friendly and helpful.

would like to formally submit a complaint regarding our stay at Mercure Lille Centre Grand-Place Hotel on April 12, 2025. Unfortunately, our experience fell far below the standards we expected from a hotel under the Accor Hotel Group. We booked two rooms for a total of €367, which turned out to be highly overpriced considering the condition and cleanliness of the hotel. Here are the main issues we encountered: Curtains with visible holes and cobwebs above them. Dusty wardrobes, clearly not cleaned in a long time. Toilet paper placed directly above the toilet brush, which is highly unhygienic. One of the rooms had only one towel for two guests, and the towel appeared to be previously used, with visible marks. Towels were old and worn out. No air conditioning, making the room uncomfortable. The main elevator was out of order, so we had to walk to 2 floor and than we had to walk to the and of the corridor to use the service elevator. The bathroom was not hygienic. After lying on the bed, I experienced itchiness on my face, and it turned out that a large number of feathers were coming out of the pillows or duvet—a clear sign of worn-out bedding. The windows/doors couldn’t be opened safely, and there were no insect screens, making ventilation difficult. The carpet was dirty and poorly maintained. We were a group of four, and this experience completely ruined our trip to Lille. What was supposed to be a relaxing and enjoyable city break turned into a frustrating and disappointing stay due to the poor state of the hotel and the lack of proper facilities.

Perfect location, furnishings do not match the building

We stayed for one night as family of three adults in a suite on first floor. It is an elegant building with stain glass, high ceilings and grand staircase but decor and furnishings completely do not match 1930s era of the building and is modern Mercure. Through his mismatch they are missing an opportunity to create an amazing hotel. Now to the suite: it had weird layout, you enter straight to the living room with sofa bed which is central area to access both bathroom to the left hand side and bedroom to the right. Both living spaces are small while bathroom is large with bathtub and sink against the wall which makes the space completely empty. Also access to the balcony through French doors with great view is from the bathroom! If guest on the sofabed needs privacy, that will be disturbed as people in the bedroom must pass through the living space to go to the bathroom so it is not really functional. Normally in suites you have a corridor with access to the bathroom from both areas. Minibar had three soft drinks so not that generous. At the end of March, room was very cold and aircon did not make any difference. Sofa bed has only blanket and sheet which made for a freezing stay. Parking „Opera” is 2 min walk and is secure at 15 Euros per 24h. The young man on afternoon shift is informative and competent, the rest of the team not so. We arranged for late check out until just 1 pm extension as I am gold member but reception called the room after 12 to chase us out and I had to explain it again. We paid in full upon check in but upon check out, the other receptionist tried to charge me again… these are all unnecessary annoyances. It is worth staying there for the location vs value ratio but in warmer months to avoid freezing at night. I

A one night stay with a coach tour. Very nice hotel, lovely and clean and the breakfast was delicious, especially the thick and creamy yogurt for the fruit. Easy to walk where I wanted to go, shopping centre 5 mins away. Looking forward to coming back in October with the same company.
