Room huge, staff lovely, location perfect!

Lovely hotel, stayed in room number 1 which was obviously an accessible room due to layout. It was huge and perfect for my family. Staff let us check in about 2.30pm, spoke very good English and did what they could to help. Perfect location central to everything. Only small negatives were the doors slamming throughout the night from other guests and no English tv channels at all. Difficult when you have a bad storm and advised not to go out. No late check out available and Eurostar was heavily delayed so we were all exhausted. Breakfast felt too expensive when you had so many options around for a fraction of the cost. The supermarket was just round the corner and we bought most meals there. The most beautiful church directly opposite (where we attended a service) and kids loved the comic shop next door. Felt very safe but a lot of homeless men, women and sadly children all around which was upsetting.

Great location, cool hotel, very very clean, rooms are modern, staff were great and the breakfast was lovely. A perfect place to stay. We really loved it here.

A very central location close to the city centre, bars cafes and restaurants and walking distance to both train stations. It was an oasis away from the busy city. The staff were warm and welcoming and eager to assist. The apartment was large including the bathroom and we enjoyed the additional space. The breakfast was very good and access to the laundry was also appreciated. Very homely

The Adagio Hotel is attractive and in a very good location in Lille. Had a wonderful 5 nights here. We needed a Taxi from/to Gare Lille-Flanders because of luggage. Pleasant helpful Staff on Reception. Vibe is very relaxed and homely. The Lounge Area has items to borrow. A Wheeled Shopping bag, Dog Bowl, Board Games, a free Book Exchange. English books even. An extensive Pantry. The Breakfast Room was impressive. We Self-Cater so bought our groceries at nearby Carrefours. Our Studio/Apartment was spacious and actually had so much useful storage it wasn’t all needed by 2 of us. Impressive though. My only issue was in spite of strenuously trying online and at Reception to ascertain our room had a Matrimonial Bed and a separate Lounge it didn’t. My husband has a bad back and can’t watch TV sitting on a bed. At arrival in room I immediately, politely, tried to obtain a room with bed and Lounge but Hotel was fully booked. Young man who had assured me at arrival we had both lounge and bed, then advised only Apartments had both. Not entirely my mistake. He advised Studios only had a Murphy Bed ( his nomenclature) which pulls down from a wall cavity and when shut looks like a slim cupboard in wall or can be organised as a lounge chair. I noticed the bulky framework of the bed with trepidation as we had to leave it open and out as a bed and sure enough one morning making it I banged my leg against the bulky outer wooden posts. No surprise another guest commented in Reviews he had done the same thing. Otherwise the room was good. The Kitchenette area was excellent, User Friendly and appropriate Batterie de Cuisine. The bathroom with Shower spacious and safe. Fast Elevators to all areas. The Church of Saint-Etienne across the street is stunning, keep sharp eyes out and rush in when it is open. The historic Office de Tourisme is an easy 2 streets away and a must visit ASAP as they organise a fantastic Bus Tour around Lille. The Office de Tourisme and Bus Staff were outstanding. Lille is famous for General, later President Charles de Gaulle and definitely worth searching out everything pertinent to this great man. We also got to Dunkerque by train from Lille.

No hot water! Avoid.

I was there for 3 nights in June 2025. On June the 3rd, in the morning, there was not hot water in the entire facitily. Impossible to take a hot shower. No warning, no explanation, no apology, no commercial gesture. Inacceptable. I will not return.
