Novotel Lyon Gerland Musée des Confluences bintang 4

I stayed in this hotel passing through for 3 nights during a trip and I was fine, first of all for the convenient location that allowed to move easily, I also enjoyed breakfast but found the staff to be particularly polite and accommodating

Excellent all round experience. Stayed one night whilst driving back to UK from Spain.. Rooms were great. Not sure about the glass wall that can be made clear to see into the shower but it was fun for a minute. Ate in the shopping centre as the restaurant was going to be busy with a large group booking. Breakfast was good. Shame there was no bacon to go with the sausages and eggs but not a major problem. Plenty of choice and all very nicely presented and looked fresh. Great service by the team. Thank you for sorting out the interconnecting rooms. Recommended!

The Swimming pool is not clean and was over crowded, the restaurant was terrible and over crowded as well, the room was not clean with some suspect first in the wall. I will strongly not recommend this hotel despite the location (close to the musée)

Advertises as a family friendly hotel. Sadly there is a manager who lacks charm, empathy and basic manners who is rude to mothers with children in areas where children are playing nicely. The bar service is also slow and exceptionally overpriced. The hotel is also situated in a fairly rough area, making walking around with a pram or small children undesirable. The only positive is that the cleaning staff have been excellent, polite and thorough. Anyone staying be warned they will charge 18 euros for breakfast, including for toddlers, with VAT added. Nigh on 37 euros for a mother and toddler. Parking is also 12 euros a day, during our stay my car door has been damaged because the spaces are so tight (another car had whacked my rear passenger door when opening their door).

First impressions count for a lot. Let's start with the parking, access is complicated with no helpful information as to what to do, the spaces are fine if you have a very small car otherwise you risk expensive damage on pillars. Reception is haphazard at best. Long queue, harassed staff, no English spoken, and room not what was ordered. The room is desperately ordinary. Made up for a family, but only two of us. Reception not willing to change it around so we have. Carpet not hoovered, light not working, one teabag, I very much doubt any attention is paid to covid protection. We stay in lots of places all over the world, some cheap, some expensive and are well aware that this is at the budget end of the scale, but this does not excuse a lacklustre room, poor cleaning and uncaring, unhelpful, staffing. The one teabag was accompanied by only one one milk which although ridiculous is strangely logical. I went downstairs to remedy (no point in phoning) a manager was helpful but unable to find any milk, he was bailed out by a barman who knew where to look. Had it not been for the horrendous traffic and the fact we are only here 1 night we would definitely have checked out to find something/anything better. Take the advice of a very experienced traveller, stay somewhere else.
