I dont know if it is the language barrier or cultural differences, but we felt highly discriminated in the premises. We are a group of 8 pax, and at breakfast, we were singled out for leaving some food unfinished. There were other guests also who left much larger portions on their plate but were never approached nor attention called for. When we pointed out that some table left more food than us, they just shrugged of and let us go without an apology or any word. What aggravated the situation was the manner our attention was called. They called us as if we broke something or have done something very terrible. They could have approached us in a cordial manner, but instead, they pointed at us and shouted to our group. I dont know if that is the training of Mercure Paris, but that was how we were approached by Emmanuel and Sabrina of the F & B. Thank you also to Khalil who helped us and talked with us to assure us of our stay. he is good in defusing the situation.

We were discriminated not once, but twice. No policy was explained. Not even a polite talk was given.(F&B department)

Location was great, but hospitality is bad. Plus they have the worst customer service specially on their Food and Beverage department. The discrimination coming from high level staffs of management shows how this establishment is ran. Complaints were given but to no avail. Discrimination and disrespect was what we experienced not once, but twice on the duration of our stay. The restaurant handled by the hotel has the worst customer service. They execute rules that was never explained to diners based on who they chose to impose them to.

We enjoyed our stay: the hotel is handy for Montmartre and the rest of Paris is easily accessible. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and breakfast was very good, with a large range of hot and cold food. The rooms along the front are noisy, but bearable if you close the windows. It was great to have a safe and a fridge in the room - the bar staff don't mind opening your wine for your if you forgot to bring a corkscrew 😊 All in all, it is a good hotel and I would stay there again.

After a pleasant stay at the hotel, when checking out we were asked to pay the city tax again, as apparently it hadn’t gone through. Despite protesting that it was paid, we felt pressured into paying it again as we were leaving our bags at the hotel for the day. Despite several emails, phone calls, and a supposed refund, which still hasn’t been received after 6 days, we are out of pocket. I did suggest they issue the refund again but they have refused. My advise to anyone staying here is REFUSE TO PAY AGAIN IF THEY SAY THEY HAVENT RECEIVED THE PAYMENT! On looking at past reviews, this isn’t a one off! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Lovely hotel, shame about the staff. Upon checking out, we were told that a charge had not gone through and we were forced to pay a second time. The receptionist then gave us a bit of paper with 2 email addresses on it incase both charges went through. That way she could sort a refund. Both charges went though and I attempted to contact the hotel using the email addresses provided. Both bounced back. Eventually, I managed to locate an email address who responded saying that I would have to fill out a form and then provide a couple of extra details over the phone so that they could process the refund. I return the form and heard nothing. After chasing them multiple times, only when threatened to take matters further didn’t they attempt to call me. This attempt was made at 9.30 at night when I was already asleep. I then I woke up to a very rude email from the “manager”. I am still yet to receive my refund. Upon checking other reviews, I can see they quite often “accidentally” over charge people who then have to fight to get their money back. Certainly wasn’t the standard we expected. I don’t think anyone would expect to get scammed from such a well known hotel chain.
