The Waterfront’s History
While planning for the venue began back in 1989, the building wasn’t completed until 1997. The impressive structure was designed by local architects, with its circular auditorium based on the famous Philharmonic Hall in Berlin.
One of the building’s most unique and cleverly designed features is its domed copper roof, which, over time, will turn green to match another of Belfast’s landmarks: the green-domed City Hall.
Entertainment
As one of Belfast’s most popular live music venues, the Waterfront’s impressive auditorium has hosted some of the world’s most famous faces and acclaimed stars on its stage over the years and continues to do so today.
Whether you’re looking for rock, pop, classical orchestras, or opera, you can find it all on the hall’s calendar of events, including upcoming shows from musicians such as Nile Rogers & Chic, and Katherine Jenkins.
Alongside live music, the venue is also host to theatre, ballet tours, must-see musicals, and a variety of stand-up comedy throughout the year. Upcoming shows include funnymen Jimmy Carr and Ed Byrne!
