A destination of immeasurable delights that is making its way onto every golfer's bucket list is Dubai. Whether you are traveling to Dubai for leisure or business, you can always swing by for a game of golf in the varied, world-class golf courses of the city that will certainly take your golfing experience up a notch. We bring you some of the best Dubai golf courses for a good tee-off time.

Emirates Golf Club (The Majlis course) - Emirates Hills 2

Home of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, the Majlis Championship course is the flagship course of Emirates Golf Club, and is deemed as the cathedral of golfing courses in Dubai. The golf course offers world-class golf steeped in Arabian luxury, it is no wonder that Golf World magazine ranked the golf course as one of the ‘Top 100 Golf Courses in the World’ and the ‘Best Course in the Middle East’. The beautiful course offers a variety of challenges to novice and experienced golfers throughout the 18 holes that are built around characteristic desert landscape of the city with a wadi meandering through the lush green fairways of the course. Apart from housing a golf academy, a beautiful clubhouse, the golf club also features international restaurants, a gym hall and shops for golf merchandise and essentials. We recommend that you book early to play on the Majlis, as you may fail to find a booking later. Did you know that Matthew Turner is the first and the only amateur golfer from the Middle East to make the cut in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in 2009?

Jumeirah Golf Estates (Earth course) – Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road

Without a doubt the premier residential golf development in the city, with two excellent courses – Fire & Earth –  that have been featured in the Golf Digest magazine, the Jumeriah Golf Estates has played host to internationally acclaimed golfers. The ‘Earth’ golf course has captured the attention of the world as the home to the premier event of the European tour, DP World Tour Championship. What sets the course apart from the others and primes it to perfection is the wonderful views of the beautifully manicured fairways that stay unchanged throughout all the seasons, brilliant bunkers and dazzling landscape of trees-filled greens. When the mercury levels drop, the beautifully lit driving range offers a unique opportunity to play night golf. The range of exquisite international dining options and luxury leisure amenities of the Country Club are icing on the cake.

Al Badia Golf Club – Al Badia, Al Tal Village

This one-of-a-kind 18-hole championship golf course designed with water features has intertwined eighteens guarded by eleven lakes, many waterfalls and a creek, and an array of trees and plants lining them make playing a round of golf here difficult as the surrounding views can cause a bit of distraction to any golfer. The green may be forgiving but the winds can pose a challenge to any golfer worth their weight. The quality of golf plus a myriad of facilities such as a floodlit driving range for evening golf enthusiasts, MATT swing analysis for those who’d like to prepare themselves for a round of golf and a Science and Motion putting laboratory to perfect the motion of the putting stroke along with a range of dining options, make the club a must-visit golfing location in Dubai.

Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club – Port Saeed

If you enjoy golf in a waterfront location to drown out city noise and feel one with nature, Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club is the place for you. Offering a place to relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the Marina and the creek as it winds around the stunning 18-hole, par-71 championship course, with impeccably conditions teeing ground, lush fairways, plenty of palm trees and shrubs that enhance the aesthetics of the rolling greens and strategic water hazards provide a great challenge for every level of golfer, making Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club a classic waterfront course. The course has been host to many tournaments and events, including the Dubai Desert Classics. There a recreational driving range for those not looking to take on the hazards and obstacles of the 18-holes and a dhow-shaped Clubhouse, which is one of the most photographed landmarks of the UAE.

The Els Club – Dubai Sports City

Whether you are a social golfer or a golf enthusiast, the Els Club’s desert landscaped links with its wide undulating fairways, elevated greens and challenging bunkers make for a testing yet enjoyable golfing experience. The 72-par course was designed by US Open & British Open champion Ernie Els to satisfy any Dubai vacationer looking for a perfect day out on the links.
