An outdoor symphony
The Domain is one of the most gorgeous parks in Sydney, and in January, it will be offering a special opportunity to fans of classical music.
The Symphony on the Domain will be taking place January 26 at 8 p.m., under a large tent set up near Art Gallery road.
This year, the Symphony Orchestra will perform Gustav Holst's The Planets, fitting for a concert under the stars. Audience members will also get to hear readings of Shakespeare and view a fantastic fireworks display.
Something a little sweet
Rock Candy is a beloved treat, but have you ever stopped to think about how it's made? If you visit Sticky, a candy store located in The Rocks, you'll get a chance to see the process first hand.
Seven days a week, the candy-makers at Sticky give a free, live demonstration of how this colourful lolly is made. Of course, you'll likely want to sample some of the candy yourself, so bring a few bucks to pick up some treats.
For the foodies
Looking for a free event that will allow you to enjoy some delicious and affordable cuisine? Head to Belmore Park on Friday, December 6, for a chance to sample dishes from some of Sydney's best food trucks.
If the first event, which takes place from 5 to 10 p.m., becomes a hit, there's a good chance this will become a "first friday of the month" regularity - don't worry if you can't make the first one!
