If you and your partner are oenophiles, that's wine lovers, you won't want to miss Australia's incredible wine regions.
Australian vineyards offer an incredibly beautiful experience for a honeymoon, anniversary or weekend getaway - after all, there's nothing quite as romantic as looking into your lover's eyes over a glass of vino.
If you're thinking about sweeping your other half off their feet with a holiday in Australia, consider these winery holidays.
Barossa Valley, located just a few hours' drive from Adelaide, boasts some of Australia's most expansive vineyards. The area began growing into its current role after the South Australian Wine company set up shop here in the 19th century. Numerous tours are available throughout the area.
You can embark on a self-guided tour, explore the area by bicycle, walk the region's well-known trails or hire a tour company to take you around. You may want to check out some of the region's small towns - such as Angaston, Greenock, Kapunda, Tanunda, Williamstown and Lyndoch - which boast a mixture of charm and wine culture.
Western Australia's Margaret River is another ideal choice for wine lovers.
Boasting a variety of top-notch wineries, spa resorts and fine dining establishments, a holiday in Margaret River can make for a truly luxurious getaway.
The region is home to about 5,500 hectares of wine-growing soil. If you feel like taking a break from wining and dining, the beach is only a few miles away.
One of the country's most well-known wine regions, Yarra Valley is home to about 80 wineries.
Situated in Victoria about an hour or so drive out of central Melbourne, Yarra Valley was the first wine region in the state, with roots dating back to 1838.
Even beyond the wine, the area's cuisine is worth experiencing too. Yarra Valley is known for its fresh produce, seafood and handmade cheeses.
Head to Swan Valley, located due north of Perth, for the oldest wine-producing region in Western Australia.
If you love wine but also want some variety, you've come to the right place. The Swan Valley Food and Wine trail offers a mix of wineries, fine dining establishments, breweries, distilleries and casual eateries.
If you're up for a really romantic experience, tour Swan Valley Heritage Tail in a horse-drawn carriage. The Swan River runs through the area, too, so you'll have plenty of gorgeous natural vistas to view.
The well-known Clare Valley is home to the quintessential Australian riesling. The weather here is simply gorgeous, with a Mediterranean climate that will make you and your lover feel as though you're on holiday in the southern reaches of Europe.
The region is home to more than 30 wineries. Check out the towns of Auburn and Clare, take a tour along the Riesling Trail or simply visit Clare Valley's distinctive wineries. You'll find all the actual wineries tucked between the two towns along a 40-kilometre route.
If you're looking for a wine region steeped in history (and of course, overflowing with wine), head to Hunter Valley.
This region is the oldest area of its kind in Australia. It was the first place where winemakers settled and found Aussie soil to be ripe for growing.
The region is also home to a variety of spas, fine dining establishments, cooking schools and golf courses. Artisans throughout the area craft expert cheeses, charcuterie plates, olive oils, breads, chocolates and more, so be sure to stock up and bring some home to your friends... however, we doubt your friends would mind a souvenir bottle of wine either!
