The vibe at TRIBE Budapest Stadium: creative days & memorable nights

Picture yourself in a hub where creatives, sports enthusiasts and professionals gather amid cutting-edge design. That's TRIBE Budapest Stadium – a fresh lifestyle approach in the Hungarian capital.

The restaurant and lobby combine into a clever, free-flowing space where you can grab lunch, sit down to dinner or have an informal meeting over speciality Vergnano coffee.

The rooftop is a special place at any time of day. Head up for a morning jog on the spectacular rooftop running track. As night falls, sip signature cocktails at the Skybar, watching Budapest light up below.

On one side of TRIBE Budapest Stadium is the futuristic MVM Dome, where sports like basketball and handball share the schedule with concerts by global megastars. On the other, Groupama Arena is home to one of Hungary's biggest football teams.

Fans of these events, and even participants, form part of the vibrant crowd in the lobby’s bar, lounges and restaurant.

First impressions

Stepping into the lobby of TRIBE Budapest Stadium is like walking into a contemporary art piece. The striking combination of industrial ceilings and vivid mismatched furniture is complemented by works from several local artists. We soon find our favourite spot in this eclectic space where every corner offers a different vibe.

The building’s exterior had already given us a taste of what to expect. The eye-catching structure streaked with bright accents is also home to offices, and workers are among the crowd in the lobby, sitting down to get some work done or brainstorming in the dedicated coworking area. The first TRIBE hotel in Hungary feels like a place where things happen.

As tantalising aromas drift over from the restaurant’s show kitchen, we discuss the ideal time for a run on the rooftop running track – mellow late afternoon or invigorating early morning. We also can’t wait to head up and try one of the 13 brands of gin in the Skybar, where we’re promised vast floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking mesmerising city lights.

But before that, there’s plenty of time for exploring. Within 200 metres of the hotel, two stadiums host high-level sporting events and some of the most famous names in music. We can't help but get online and check whether tickets are available for a major event just steps from our room.

Whatever you're planning in the Hungarian capital, TRIBE Budapest Stadium is the perfect base. The hotel is right on the main road between the airport and the centre, and the heart of the city is a short, direct metro ride away. This also makes the hotel very convenient for corporate events, with space for up to 180 delegates, plus the bar and restaurant available for private use. Everyone from business travellers to style-seekers will appreciate the essential amenities with special touches that TRIBE Budapest Stadium offers.

"The heart of the action" - the lobby lounges, bar and restaurant are where the world meets.

You'll fall in love with the Skybar

When we step into the Cloud IX Skybar, we're immediately torn between exploring the menu of unique signature drinks and soaking in the city views through towering windows. Luckily, once bespoke cocktails are in hand, there's plenty of time to find a spot by the window and gaze out at the shimmering city lights while also admiring the illuminated MVM Dome. The design of the Skybar is just as captivating as the view. Lush greenery and endless glass give the interior space an outdoor feel, and even the furniture is interesting enough to catch our eye.

The bar's 13 varieties of gin include local options that provide a taste of the city you'll look out over. Among the cocktails created by the in-house mixologists and exclusively poured at TRIBE Budapest Stadium is a tipple made with Hungarian Cherry Palinka, a deep, dark brandy crafted from sour cherries.

The clientele is as perfectly mixed as the drinks. This remarkable rooftop bar in Budapest is also the ideal place for an after-dinner coffee from the speciality selection.

"Cocktails in the sky" - we're drawn to the Skybar and enticing signature cocktails not found anywhere else.

The rooms, inviting and inventive

Staying in a room or suite at this designer hotel feels like browsing modern art exhibits at a gallery. We're immediately drawn to the signature piece - a sleek, donut-shaped concept called the Rondo Mirror that looks like it belongs on a futuristic spacecraft. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame a portrait of the local area. The smart, sophisticated black-and-light design is punctuated by flashes of bright colours.

When you're craving a quiet moment in your room before heading out again, plenty of comforts make your space a sanctuary. Rainfall showers, Chromecast TV and super-quick Wi-Fi await. If you're looking for something even more upscale, book a TRIBE MAX Suite. With in-room standalone bathtubs, they're perfect for couples or honeymooners. But why limit it? We can easily see solo executives or digital nomads treating themselves to some well-deserved downtime in these suites, too.

Eating & drinking in a buzzing hub

We love the concept of the restaurant here, blending in seamlessly as part of the large, open lobby that flows between areas with different vibes. Thoughtful variations of lighting and furniture create both snug nooks and airy spaces, giving seating options for an intimate dinner or a group gathering. Choose swing seats or sofas!

The restaurant team is truly dedicated to the fresh, full-on flavours of California. The show kitchen helps us feel connected to the cuisine before it even arrives on the plate, beautifully presented. The breakfast buffet is a morning hug with warm, rich aromas of fresh pastry and plenty of options for a healthy kickstart or an indulgent feast.

Everyone needs a bit of downtime, but when you're staying in one of Europe's coolest cities, you might like to spend time at the heart of it all. Select a snack and drink from the lobby's grab-and-go section, open 24/7, and take in the sights and sounds of the Hungarian capital.

"Running in the air" - the rooftop running track is a standout feature that makes a workout an experience.

Local adventures in Budapest

Budapest's architecture is a breathtaking tapestry of styles that will leave you in awe. The Hungarian Parliament Building, a Gothic Revival masterpiece, dominates the Danube's eastern bank with its intricate spires and expansive dome. Across the water, Fisherman's Bastion and Buda Castle bring Baroque Revival, Art Nouveau and Neo-Romanesque styles into the mix. Vajdahunyad Castle looks like something from a fairytale, while St. Stephen's Basilica stands as a testament to Neoclassical grandeur, its twin bell towers visible from across the city.

For something more contemporary, admire pop art at Ludwig Museum, or Central and Eastern European modern art at Q Contemporary. Finish your day of sightseeing with a visit to a ruin bar. These watering holes in abandoned buildings, now packed with graffiti, lush plants and salvaged furniture, are like works of art in their own right.

"The art of living" - a stay at TRIBE Budapest stadium is like living among modern art

Refreshing your fitness routine

There are not many hotels with running tracks in Budapest, and certainly not with circuits on the rooftop. Imagine taking a breath in the crisp, early morning air as you start your run high above the city. After a day of meetings or an indulgent lunch, walk it off with a rooftop stroll. The novelty of this sky-high path makes for a great social media post, too – we can't resist sharing a few snapshots of our unique fitness experience.

For those who prefer a more traditional workout, the indoor fitness room doesn't disappoint. We find it well-equipped with all the essentials for a comprehensive exercise session. After your workout, the grab-and-go station in the lobby has plenty of cold drinks and nutritious snacks to recharge your batteries.
