Have stayed in many other hotels in KL and must say was disappointed with this hotel, Overall the location, room size Stayed in club room), cleanliness is all plus. However attitude of some staff was not pleasant. When checking in I asked where's the designated smoking area and was told the hotel is 100 per cent non smoking hotel. As if I am not aware and who's taking about smoking in the hotel. Anyway I managed to find the designated smoking area the next morning. Which the staff concerned could have pointed out in the first instance when I asked him. Breakfast was a mess. The staff were all over the place and service was slow, clearing of used utensils was slow, perhaps it was too crowded-that I understand, topping up of food was super slow. Then came my biggest shock. I sent my clothes for express laundry service at 8am and specifically indicated I needed my clothes back by 8pm. When I returned to my room at 11pm a message indicated no one was in the room and the DND sign was on. I made very sure the DND sign was turned off before I left. So I do not know how the DND sign was on? I also noticed on the bill it was COD. I called the front office to make enquiries and after much explanation my clothes were delivered. I asked to speak to the duty manager and she told me if it's not COD my clothes will not be delivered until payment is made. This the first time I experience such comment. In other worse if no payment was made my clothes will not be returned and she told me yes. I am appalled by such reply. I clearly mentioned to her that during check out I am sure the staff will inform me I have outstanding amount to be settled. I am truly astonished by the duty manager reply. Anyway long story short it will be last with Sofitel

Luxury Hotel done right

The hotel is located in the higher-class area Damansara. There is a small shopping center about 50m from the entrance and a large shopping center about 200m away, within walking distance but bring an umbrella if you think it might rain. The hotel is quite grand and the staff are friendly. They seem rather busy so check-in might take a while. The room I was given was really luxurious and easily the best room of my trip. It was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. TV channels were ok but there was no option to stream. Breakfast buffet had a lot of variety and the food was mostly good. The executive lounge is rather grand. The food served during cocktails was good, though I felt the cocktails themselves were average. The pool is rather fancy. It was an odd shape which made laps difficult but not impossible.

Comfortable Anniversary Stay with Warm Hospitality

We stayed at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur from 22nd to 25th December as part of our 16th wedding anniversary celebration, travelling with our child. Overall, it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay, and we truly enjoyed our time at the property. The staff deserve a special mention for being extremely helpful, courteous, and responsive at all times. From check-in to housekeeping and restaurant service, the team ensured our stay was smooth and comfortable, making us feel welcome throughout. We stayed in a corner suite, which was spacious, well-maintained, and very comfortable for a family stay. The room offered good privacy and a calm atmosphere, allowing us to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the city. The overall ambience of the hotel and the peaceful surroundings added to the sense of comfort and relaxation. The breakfast was adequate, with a decent spread and good quality. However, as vegetarians, we felt there is scope for improvement. Considering Kuala Lumpur has a large Tamil and Indian population, adding South Indian vegetarian options such as idli, dosa, sambhar, or upma would greatly enhance the breakfast experience for vegetarian guests and make the offering more inclusive. As Accor Silver members, we appreciated the recognition and thoughtful service, which added a nice personal touch to our anniversary stay. Overall, our stay at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur was comfortable, peaceful, and well-supported by a helpful and attentive team. With a few enhancements to the vegetarian breakfast options, the experience could be even better. A good choice for families and couples looking for a comfortable stay in a calm part of the city, with warm hospitality and spacious rooms.

First visit to Sofitel KL

This is my first trip back to KL after more than a decade. It’s my first stay in Sofitel KL. Check-in was nice except I need remind staff that I requested for high floors and there’s a minor hiccup with my new year eve dinner at the hotel restaurant which the restaurant manager promptly resolved. Concierge and security staff are all super courteous and always greeted us every morning. The main pain point is the restaurant where we had our daily breakfast. It’s chaotic and food always run out. The lady chef preparing eggs always give me the impression she was always so frustrated with our orders. I wanted orange juice but I only managed to get one out of my 3 mornings there. The guest room was fabulous and comfortable esp the bed. The bath tub was abit old and there’s cracks in wood at the side. There’s room for improvement but I’m happy with the hotel except the breakfast situation.

This is the place with the best variety of delicious fruits I have ever visited.

I truly loved the buffet, especially the durian selection. The jackfruit and durian here had the best flavors I have ever tasted. The coconuts were also uniquely refreshing, with a gentle sweetness unlike anything I had experienced before. There was a hibiscus tea served in a very lovely pink cup, as well as a coffee-like drink with a golden leaf inside—although I can’t remember its name, it was truly impressive. I absolutely fell in love with this place and would call it the kingdom of the best fruits in the world.
