A wonderful hotel

Stayed here for a few days at the start of our Thailand holiday. Staff couldn't have been more friendly. Right from the moment we arrived (exhausted after a long flight) we were looked after with such care. We stayed in a King Executive room and so were able to check in at the Executive lounge on the 20th floor. Everything about the hotel was explained by the lovely receptionist before we were shown to our lovely room on the 17th floor. Room was immaculate and everything we needed was there. Location of the hotel is more in a business district but you are no more than a 10 minute walk to the Victory BTS station which easily gets you around the city. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel if we are in Bangkok again and will look to stay at Pullman hotels on our future travels.

City Holiday in Bangkok with Club lounge Access

we booked a holiday to Thailand after our son's wedding and after communicating with the Pullman decided to stay there for 4 nights and at the Sofitel Krabi for 2 nights. The best decision we made ! Due to our Platinum status we were checked in at the lounge on the 20th floor. We only met Music on that one night but she left a good impression. Our bags on Singapore Airlines got caught to a massive storm and we arrived with out them : She checked us in , upgraded us to a Suite ( Room 1941) and contacted SQ and advised that when the bags arrived they would be held at concierge till the morning. When we called in the morning, Music had accurately communicated and our bags arrived at our room. The dinner on the 1st night was good but would love to see more Thai food on the a' la carte menu especially if one does not want a massive sea food buffet. Our room was exceptional. While the hotel is now 10 years the overall decor has not dated and the king Bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room amenities were excellent. While we had the option to have Breakfast in the Lounge or the main restaurant, we opted for the latter which had a much wider range of delectable foods to try. The coffee does let the 5 star service down. Most other 5 star Accor hotels ( SO/, Banyan Tree and Sofitel Sukumvit have a barista coffee service,) We would go up to the lounge for a better coffee and a chat with the staff who were always amazing. The Evening Canapes and Drinks experience is the BEST we have had in any of the Accor Hotels in Bangkok. The Canapes selection and attention to intricate detail is amazingly good and the Cocktail list and wines on offer is exceptional. It is rare to find a bartender shaking cocktails in a lounge. Here they did and took great pride in what they did. Led By Mini, and North , Eye, Eak and Keng worked some amazing magic in to the drinks they made, making us a very happy couple by 7 pm . A big thank you to all of them and to Nan ( Front office Manager) who we met briefly. When we see exceptional service and exceptional quality we are aware that there is a good Management team doing good work. Thank you. We hope you are able to maintain this level of care, service and attention to detail and communication that makes The Pullman King Power a desirable hotel in Bangkok.

Good but Dated - Needs a few upgrades

On the drive to the hotel I had 'buyers remorse' not wholly embracing the location of the hotel, however, it turned out to be a relatively good location. More concern came when we went to our high level deluxe room, (which was quite small), thankfully we were able to upgrade to a suite on level 21 which was really really good as the plumbing in the hotel is not particularly soundproof (we could hear people using the shower next door). and 21 is I think the highest floor so no noise from above. That is most of the negative, except (maybe) the level of English of the staff. Like or lump it, English appears to be a universal language and other tourists where English is not their first language might find it even harder than we did when communicating with staff. Although we were lucky with our reception check in she did speak reasonable English, the only other person was one of the bellboys (Yard) who should be doing a much higher role given his proficiency/comprehension of English. The positive, the room, clean, had a huge bathtub, shower and single vanity. Bedding and pillows very comfortable. The hotel had pillow menu. Water temp/pressure was good. The foyer of the hotel is impressive, the breakfast good, and the staff obliging (except cleaning staff did not leave us any towels at all when they cleaned the room on day 3). The pool is nice and not massively used, the gym adequate. Water provided daily. Pay min-bar. Sky train approx 5 min walk away, 3 stops to Siam, 4 stops to Central. We were there for 7 days and by the end actually felt it was like a 'home'. Being Thailand there are a lot of night street stalls close by. We had a club room, hence had access to daily cocktails on level 20 which was good. The hotel is adjacent to King Power (a large duty free shopping chain), however, only per chance did we find out that if you are at the hotel guest you can claim a 20% discount , so if you stay remember to ask. Whilst we did not eat at the hotel a lot, we did have pizza one evening, and it was fabulous.

Not impressed at all....to avoid

Honestly, I was very disappointed. BKK is known to have extremely nice hotel and this one is for sure not one of those. Room is ok, but just one towel...elettric power not near the bed so if you want to work or watch something on your laptop you are obliged to stay in the desk. Breakfast big but with not great quality. Beds ok, but nothing special. To be avoided.
