A Very Poor Welcome

I arrived by car to find major roadworks taking place immediately outside the hotel, I drove up to the garage entrance and pressed the buzzer. I then spoke with the receptionist via the intercom who made me come into the hotel to give her my car details. I had to abandon my car with my luggage and valuables inside, block in two maintenance vehicles and report to reception. It would have made much more sense to let me park in the garage first, not cause a blockage, and then give her the information upon checking in. When I checked in, this receptionist (dark hair glasses, Spanish looking, mid 30’s) gave me my Gold Member welcome drink voucher and told me that it was for One Drink Only for me and nothing for my wife, I found that gesture very petty and very insulting, I have never had that happen ever in any of my stays with Accor ever, we are always offered two drinks. I like Beaune and have stayed at Novotel, Ibis & Ibis Styles in the town before, I certainly won’t be returning to the Ibis Styles again if this is the sort of welcome that is now on offer.

Dear DEREK W., First of all, we would like to apologize to you for the unpleasant experience you had during your recent stay with us. Your comfort and satisfaction are our top priority, and we sincerely regret that we did not meet your expectations upon your arrival. We understand your frustration regarding the roadworks and the difficult circumstances this has created for you. Problem beyond our control since the work is organized by the city of Beaune and not by the hotel. As for the incident with our receptionist, we are deeply sorry that you perceived her behavior as petty and insulting. We inform you that the person present today is not an integral part of the hotel. All hotel staff were in mandatory training on the day of arrival and the reception at the Ibis Styles hotel was managed by a receptionist from another hotel in Beaune. We understand your disappointment and assure you that your feedback will be taken very seriously so that we can rectify these issues and regain your trust. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future and to offer you an experience that fully meets your expectations. The Ibis Styles Beaune team

Everything very good and staff very helpful. Well located near the centre.

Ibis Styles Beaune Centre is a very good choice of hotel in Beaune: well located in the city centre, but not in the most noisy parts, staff are very well-coming and nice, and also the breakfast is a great treat. I can strongly recommend this new hotel, compared to others in Beaune
