Worst hotel I have ever stayed in , rooms are very hot with the ac not working , very arrogant and rude staff , no water kept in the room , they charge you like a bomb but service is pathetic the front office staff is the worst they speak to the guests as if they are doing them some favour !!! Absolutely waste of money to stay in this hotel feel very cheated and disappointed have had the best of experiences at Novotel before but Gent hotel is by far the worst in terms of service and customer care !!!

Another lovely stay at this hotel. Very warmly welcomed by Serda. Lovely room with just a shower which we prefer. Sadly the weather wasn't very kind to us but the room temperature was very cosy. Watched the Ghent marathon from our bedroom window it was a great atmosphere. Wael made sure that everything was in order as always. The bar is very fairly priced and in the better weather it is lovely to sit on the terrace by the pool which we hope to be doing in June.

Not the greatest, very expensive for what it is which is based on location alone, the room was very tired with skirting board coming away and the decor is painted over wood chip. Room was very hot as no air con, but reception did provide us with a fan. There is underground parking available, be aware it is very tight to manoeuvre, ensure to let reception have your reg number as this should prevent any fines for driving in the pedestrian zone. I would not choose to stay here again as I did not feel it lived up to expectation of an ACCOR hotel due to the room feeling run down. The staff on check in were very helpful and friendly however.

Concerning the parking, we are pleased you utilized our secure underground facility but apologize for any inconvenience the tight space may have caused. Room unbearably hot

It’s a nice enough hotel with pleasant staff. However, the room was far too hot. We were told the air con doesn’t start until May - it’s centrally controlled. Until then the in-room device works as a heater. The receptionist could do nothing to help. Two nights without sleep - it really was stifling. They couldn’t even find a fan for us.

DBroy1 Couples - TripAdvisor review

Nice hotel, great location. But had a poor experience. Myself and my wife had travelled to Ghent to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. When booking, I requested that a few bottles of beer on ice be left in our room upon arrival as a surprise for my wife. As both of us don't drink champagne. Also sent an email directly to the hotel asking if this was possible and said yes, no problem, they could facilitate it. Unfortunately when we arrived in the room, there was no beer to be seen. They did put a little banner and 2 balloons in the room. Was left extremely disappointed as they had said they would facilitate it.
