Poor quality….. everything!

First room we were given was damp and smelt disgusting. Meant to have an upgraded room, but never got it! Second room wasn’t much better! Old furniture, ripped old cushions outside and spa bath not working! Our bed linen was never changed (when I asked why they said this was hotel policy) You had to hand a voucher in for a fresh towel. Not at all the ‘Luxury’ holiday we thought we’d booked. The dining room was just like a school dinner hall. The continental breakfast was very basic. No fresh crusty bread or eggs. The outdoor sitting area off the dining room was filthy and unkept! We have stayed in much nicer hotels in Port Douglas. We would definitely not recommend staying here.

Clearly, we have fallen short to meet your stay experience and certainly is not our usual high standard we aim to deliver to our valued guests. Regarding servicing of Rooms, we provide housekeeping services for stays of 8 days or more and limited towel changes for stays above 3 days. For shorter stays of 3 days or less unfortunately room servicing is not provided. We try to be as open and transparent regarding this and we apologise that this impacted your overall stay experience. I have shared your comments with our Housekeeping Manager to further understand where the lapse occurred, and we sincerely apologise for the lapses that you mention. I have also shared your comments regarding Breakfast with our Food & Beverage Team and appreciate your viewpoint. We believe that the Continental Breakfast provided is a solid offering with quality products and variety, some of which are local, however we understand that it missed the mark for you during your stay. We appreciate and understand that may be an expectation of hot items from some guests, which at the present point in time is something we logistically cannot accommodate. We are looking at ways that this could be implemented down the line but for the moment our focus is on delivering a solid Continental offering. We are open and transparent about this across all our website platforms. Your feedback, although critical, is nonetheless greatly appreciated as it is only through such feedback that we can address any concerns or feedback that may have otherwise been overlooked. Should you allow us an opportunity to make amends in the future, rest assured we will do all we can to look after you and restore your faith in us. The hotel itself is nice, the rooms are nice. The staff are useless and could never be found every time I went to reception, the breakfast is below average (not hot food at all, no eggs, no bacon, nothing of substance) On the fridge in your room there is a little magnet with a QR code for ordering room service. Upon ordering and paying and waiting over 40 minutes I went to reception only to find out there is no room service?!!! I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or stay here again.

We also think we have a great team of staff here at Mantra Portsea and this is reflected in the positive comments we receive from other guests. We are really sorry to hear that you did not have the same experience in your interactions. There will always be times when our Reception team members need to be away from the desk to attend to either other guest requests or to perform some of their duties around the resort. When our Reception desk is temporarily unattended, signage is displayed along with a telephone that guests can pick up to be connected to the Reception team member. Again we are sorry that this impacted your stay experience with us. Your feedback is greatly appreciated as it is only through such feedback that we can address any concerns or feedback that may have otherwise been overlooked. Should you allow us an opportunity to make amends in the future, rest assured we will do all we can to look after you and restore your faith in us should you decide to return again in the future. Never a problem. Everyone very helpful and friendly. Breakfast and ammenities were fantastic Not an issue at all. We hope to be back in late September as we love it so much. We have stayed there before and loved it so that is why we came back
