Easy well priced option in ettalong. Good cafes within minutes walk away. We don’t eat at the hotel as cafes are so close. Some rooms not very exciting but some are great with views over the water.

Worst stay ever

We checked in on the 23rd Apr to stay overnight for a business trip. It's our first time visiting Ettalong Beach and staying in Mantra Ettalong. However, it became the worst stay we have ever experienced. At 5.28am, we were woken up by the fire alarm, we checked everything in our room but no sign of any smoke or anything that would trigger the alarm. We went out of the room and found that the alarm was sounded throughout the whole hotel. We went back to the room and received a call from the reception saying the alarm was triggered from our room. We remembered the reception told us that there is a hefty fine if the alarm was triggered. Instantly we felt a great anxiety, shortly after, a hotel staff came to our room. I had to tell the staff to touch the kettle and the stoves and proof that they are cold and we were not using them. Both me and my wife are non-smoker so there wouldn't be anything to trigger the alarm and we were both sleeping. She said the fire brigade needed to come and check. They came in and found no sign of anything thing that triggered the alarm. The whole ordeal gave us so much anxiety and we couldn't fall back asleep afterwards, which jeopardised our whole day of work. The smoke alarm looks 30 years old and the whole hotel was impacted just by one FAULTY alarm. We hope that the management would keep up with the maintenance and that the same thing would not happen to any other guests in the future.

One carton of 200 mls of milk for four adults for two days??? Absolutely ridiculous. When we asked for a couple more, we were very reluctantly given one and told to go to the shops and purchase the milk ourselves. We are coffee and tea drinkers. We did expect an adequate amount of milk for our regular teas and coffees. This incident spoilt our holiday.
