Disappointing Stay

The room as not ready until nearly 5 PM. The "sea view" room was actually a "harbor view" with a big cement pilar to look at. Windows in the restaurant/bar area were filthy and you could not even see out of them. If you are going to have a wall of windows, I suggest cleaning them! Bar service was slow to the point where we waited to be served on the outside deck for over 40 minutes and finally had to order champagne to the room so that we could get dressed for dinner and have our cocktail in the room. Top floor deck was not opened and could not be used. The entire stay was heartbreaking. I waited for over 4 years for this trip and to stay at St. Barb. What a disappointing experience!

We understand how disappointing this must have been, especially after eagerly anticipating this trip for four years. Regarding the timing of your room's availability, we wish to clarify that our rooms are typically available from 4:00 PM onwards. We were pleased to accompany you to your room a few minutes before this time, not around 5:00 PM, in order to provide you with the utmost comfort upon your arrival. We acknowledge your disappointment with the view from your room. Although we offered you a smaller room with a clear view of the sea but without outdoor space, we respect your decision to stay in the Deluxe room for its additional amenities, despite the limited view of the sea and the Conquet port. Regarding the cleanliness of the windows, despite our efforts to keep them clean, the windy and rainy weather quickly dirtied the glass, and we regret that this affected your experience. We are surprised by your feedback regarding your experience at the bar. That day, since the attendance was not very high, there was no significant wait. When you requested to have a bottle of champagne brought to your room, our staff responded immediately to accommodate your request. Regarding the Rooftop Bar, we would like to clarify that it is only open from June to September due to its outdoor location. The spring weather conditions do not allow us to open this bar earlier, but please know that the viewpoint remains accessible all year round. We sincerely apologize that your stay did not meet your expectations. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future and provide you with an experience that fully meets your expectations. La Direction

I thought I'd booked a corner room but had accidentally booked a balcony room - no problem - the staff took care of it and accommodated us accordingly. This set the scene for a great stay, one where excellent service was top of the list. The rooms, although small, are very well decorated, and the views are unsurpassed, although if you want to sleep with the curtains open (which we did) be prepared for the lighthouse beam! The restaurant is great, and a good breakfast too - this place is hard to fault.
