HARDY'S VERANDAH RESTAURANT

Built in 1852 for Arthur Hardy, the house was his summer residence, but it also became a venue for the most lavish parties. Today, the space has been transformed into SA's top restaurants true to the house's tradition of refinement, elegance and opulence.

My birthday weekend at Mt Lofty House was exceptional in every way but what exceeded our expectations was the Guest Relations gentleman, named Chris. His vibrant energy and genuine warmth made us feel cared for and very welcome. The House Welcome, Champagne Cocktails and History Tour which he conducted was absolutely fantastic. I've travelled the world extensively and never had this level of service. The property is absolutely gorgeous and the views are breathtaking. The rooms are luxuriously appointed and very comfortable. Both breakfast and dinner was delicious and perfectly catered. We truly can't wait to return for a longer stay. Thank you for a wonderfully luxurious stay that we will never forget!

The best service from the moment you arrive, literally service from your car door. The welcome 🥂 at sign in. The happy staff, that remember you 6 months later. Service service, white linen cloth tables, like fine dining should be. The surrounding gardens are so relaxing for the mind and soul. And inclusive History Tour is a must.

Hotel is stunning from the moment you drive into the grounds, the staff are fully attentive and accommodating. We stayed for a wedding and were hugely impressed by the service, food was outstanding on all levels. Could not fault a dish. The bedrooms are elegant and plush. Highly recommend the piccadilly valley view room as you can sit on the balcony and enjoy the views. Can’t wait to come back.

If in doubt just book it! We recently had a ‘staycation’ at Mount Lofty House. I was a little dubious about going to a hotel literally 5 minutes from home but oh my goodness it is incredible. My husband and I have both travelled extensively throughout the world staying at many 5 star hotels, generally with work. These are often quite sterile and without character. Mount Lofty House has character in spades and is just so charming. The staff were magnificent and made us feel like old friends. Christopher was an absolute gem and what an asset to the property. The tour was fantastic. I would highly recommend and I dare say we will be back when we need a little break from teenagers and daily life. Thanks Mount Lofty House - you were awesome.
