OK, but front facing rooms slightly noisy. The hotel has been very recently renovated, and the double glazing is high standard, but the hotel is right opposite the station on a very busy road so inevitably some traffic noise gets through. All their family rooms are front facing, so whilst I liked the Mercure when we came back to Bologna we booked the StarHotel next door. This is a more modern building so I guess itd be quieter throughout but we had a rear facing room so cant confirm. Nespresso in room nice touch. Staff v friendly and helpful.

was waiting for my guest survey but have not received it so will share it here. So I had a booking for 1 night we have arrived late night at 3 am hotel is surrounded with homeless and drug addicts I have stoped my car in front of it and doors were closed I was met by receptionist he started talking to me thru closed doors and arguing that he have canceled my reservation because credit card was not real even though I have emailed them not to cancel it since I was on the way from Pisa, but I assume it was ignored never got reply on it . So first I think if you have guest in front of the doors instead of arguing you should at least let him come in to hotel with his belonging before he got robbed or killed which is very real on this street… after all arguments I convinced him to reinstate my booking, had to pay some additional tax which was not even mentioned in my confirmation when I asked to where is parking so I can park my car I was answered that parking is closed and it costs 20€ to park there for few hrs till morning which again doesn’t make any sense to put this information as amenity at your hotel page and then charge for it . Than I was given my room keys and went to the room when we entered room had no lights working in it properly but what I have seen it was extremely disappointing room was like 100 years old furniture that is usually used in hostels no any kind of amenities rusted kettle and disaster in the washroom, so I went down and I asked as I’m platinum member are you sure that this room was prepared for me since I did not want to believe that this is how they meet guests “after staying in 3*ibis in room and where was given suite upgrade and all type of amenities” I don’t even know how room was given without working light switches. So he bravely said yes this is what you have booked and he send me back there with guy you tried to fix light issue and then we again went down he said that he will change room. We have approached him he gave me keys he told me this room is an upgrade I was happy that I can finally go to sleep since it took more than 30 minutes just to finalize it. Once we entered new room it was a newly renovated room however again I got accessible room which I was not informed and did not really appreciate this kind of upgrades … at the morning I came down to ask for late check out also was refused on the spot . Overall was a big mistake to stop for a night in bologna I would rather sleep in my car and drive to Venice another few hrs and stay there than paying any money for this hotel … for reaching me out you can send me an email… as well as I would appreciate getting my guest survey link to I can share it there aswell…

We stayed in a newly renovated room on one of the upper floors. Room was equipped with the basic needs. A big plus was the air-conditioning, it was silent and well working. During our stay we mainly spoke to a lady at the front desk with a british accent (didn’t her name) she provided great service and assistance.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Quiet inside, even if its close to a busy street. Breakfast was good and they have an outside garden in the back, next to the lobby bar. Good value for money. Although it takes about 20 minutes to walk to the city center. Centralstation is very close.

The room was small but well appointed. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The new dining room is good and now on the ground floor an improvement on the old one. We enjoyed our stay here.
