We had a great stay at Batmans on Collins the staff were excellent and couldn’t be more helpful. Perfectly situated for trains and busses, dining out and being a Tourist. We will stay again it’s our preferred hotel and reasonable priced.

Very friendly. Nothing any trouble. Fabulous room. Very clean. Great breakfast at reasonable cost. Excellent location on Collins close to train station.

Comfy bed and central location but the number of towels and pillows was not up to scratch

We had an overnight stop in Melbourne after an international flight and once we had navigated our way to an skybus kiosk and got on the skybus to southern cross station it was a relatively short walk to the hotel, but the only access to the hotel and reception is up a few steps and as it was after hours we had to wait on the doorstep to buzz reception then lug our suitcases into the lift to go to reception. Some rooms are down steps to get to another lift as another guest checking in in front of us found. Once we were in our hotel room it was small but clean and functional and the bed comfy, however for two of us there were only two pillows. My hubby managed to find another one in a cupboard. In the morning we realised despite the booking being for two of us that there was only 1 bath towel. My husband went down to reception but the queue there was so long he came back up to the room and rang down and was promised another towel but none materialised. We slept showered (with a shared towel!) and made a quick cup of tea in the room and checked out! The positives were that was luggage storage available so we could go for a walk and breakfast before retrieving our luggage and getting back on the skybus. If you like lots of pillows and fluffy towels then this hotel is not for you and lots of heavy luggage was certainly not ideal because of steps!!

Dissatisfied that my colleague was unable to access breakfast due to accessibility needs and the lift being out of action for weeks.

Staff need to learn to be welcoming and to smile, they are no help when you need it! There’s no breakfast available for people with allergies or if you’re vegan so don’t add it to your booking if you have either of these! It’s a very expensive stay for not great staff, service and no alternatives for breakfast (also not good quality either, soggy and cold) at $24/$29pp you can get better breakfast elsewhere …
