This is an old hotel desperately in need of modernisation. I have been an Accor All member for close to 2 decades & would have spent over 700 nights in their hotels. Most have been ideal, not this one though. The carpark is diabolical for anyone owning a modern 4WD, ute of other larger vehicle. RAM & Chevrolet owners definitely unsuitable. That's OK but tell us on the website so we can book someone else! The carpark was reminiscent of Venice’s Villa Pisani Labirinto & getting our ute in & out was difficult to say the least. Ideal for late '60s Morris Mini Minors though. My “accessible room” really wasn’t - outstanding features included… aircon controls mounted way out of reach, shower bench dangerously sloping down & toilet rolls/shower gels in hard to reach places. Also nowhere to hang the shower head that a wheelchair user could access. I am a manual wheelchair user with a small chair, the room would be impossible for someone with a large chair or powerchair & the bathroom would not be workable if you needed assistance - just too small. Once switched on the air-conditioning sounded like a 747 just prior to take off. We booked in for 6 nights but left after 2. They gave us a full refund for the nights & parking we cancelled. .

Underwhelming at best. I travel extensively and stay often at Mercure hotels with the Accor group . This establishment really needs to be re classified from its present 4 stars rating to a 2 stars rating. On that basis it would be acceptable assuming the tariff was reduced accordingly. Check in was protracted and slow with only one staff member eventually coming to the check in desk with three people waiting to be attended. I was directed to use the self service check in machine. Maybe expect that is how its done at Ibis budget definitely not a Mercure claiming to be a ' 4 star' hotel. No acknowledgement received for being a loyal platinum Accor all member. No personal welcome. I did self service to room, no concierge service available. ( 4 star? ).. My critique of room {901} bathroom was a small bath with to single rose shower head. Shower water collected in bath which does present a slipping issue. Older persons may have issue stepping over bath edge to shower. No basin amenities at all other than the rudimentary tissue box and liquid hand wash. No tooth brush, razor blade, comb, ear buds etc. { 4 star? }. Hotel is aged and understaffed, it was previously badged as a Travelodge. If it is sold rooms as a two star establishment and priced accordingly, no issue, you get what you pay for but at $413 for two nights is not good value. Breakfast was included in the rate and was retailing at $29 otherwise. For $29 there's better value at nearby cafes. The breakfast was not great but it was not terrible either. The usual fare, powdered scrambled eggs, commercial bacon etc similar to budget airport lounge food This is the poorest quality Mercure I have stayed in. Sadly It has tarnishes the Brand name.

Great stay I recently stayed at Mercure Perth On Hay and had a fantastic experience. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore Perth. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options. The staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly and helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable. I look forward to my next trip and will definitely be staying here again

Hi there, I’d like to provide some feedback regarding my recent stay at Mercure perth on Hay The hotel felt outdated and was located off the main area, with rooms below standard. After a full day at a conference, facilities like a gym or pool would have been appreciated. Additionally, the customer service across housekeeping, front desk, and dining was unsatisfactory, with staff unable to assist with basic requests. Very poor ***

Great location that sadly the hotel didn’t match up to.

Arriving in Perth on a late night flight, it was gone midnight when we checked in. Had to wait what seemed like ages for the night receptionist to come to the door, but was probably only a couple of minutes, but when you’re tired… Managed to make it to breakfast 15 minutes before it finished, we were not met with a good morning or other such friendly greeting but “breakfast finish’s in 15 minutes.” Upon examining the food congealed scrambled eggs, baked bean mush and crispy pastries were among the delicacies on offer. Barely a glass for the depleted fruit juice or a cup for the coffee were to be seen. The following day, we made breakfast 2 hours earlier, but alas, the same congealed eggs and beans were on offer. Along with a not so, but nearly depleted supply of glasses & cups. On one of the days of our stay, we were off on an excursion early so asked for a takeaway breakfast, we were offered a choice and asked what we wanted. We selected a cheese sandwich and egg sandwich, or so we thought. What we actually got was a single sandwich with two fried eggs, clearly prepared the night before! I will add that on the day we departed, the breakfast area was well stocked, eggs not so congealed, beans no so mushy, pastries no so crispy, staff more welcoming. The rooms and corridors looked tired and needed a lick of paint, the doors were thin meaning we could hear the conversation of guests returning/leaving rooms throughout the night. Housekeeping outside the rooms was tardy, with a set of eating utensils left outside a room for over 48 hours and glasses I assumed once contained drinks from the bar, left in the corridor for equal periods of time. 10 minute walk from Elizabeth quay & the train station, 5 minutes from the Royal mint, good location. If and when I return to Perth though, I won’t be staying at the Mercure Perth on Hay street.
