The hotel is in the CBD right beside Elizabeth street mall. chemist warehouse is right next to it. Being in a prime area, with a small footprint, the rooms are small too. There is not much room to move around with your suitcases opened. There is only one proper chair so that one person has to lie on the bed while the other is seated. The room is spotlessly clean. The breakfast is continental buffet ($25) with an option to add à la carte item for $14. The free chocolate tasting hour 3.30 to 4.30 pm is yummy. There is a good selection of quality chocolates.

I stayed for two nights at the Movenpick Hobart after finishing a tour elsewhere in Tasmania. It was an average stay, nothing impressive, and did the job but I wouldn’t stay a second time. The pros are that the hotel is conveniently located right in the CBD on Elizabeth Street near food, shopping, attractions and transport, and the rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. That’s about where the good parts end though. The rooms on the Elizabeth Street side catch a lot of street noise and the bell tolls from the post office building across the road (which toll every 15 minutes). If you stay, ask for a room on the opposite side of the building for more quiet. I also specifically asked for a room away from the elevator and the service doors and was placed two rooms from the elevator, which annoyed me as my request wasn’t met. The in-room amenities are terrible. Cheap Moccona coffee bags and environmentally unfriendly Nespresso pods (please get rid of these), hardly any tea bags or milk provided and two spoons. It was really light on compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at and I frequently had to request top ups. The body products provided are just as bad - cheap, nasty products that dried out my skin and hair. The only saving grace is that the other products provided were paper-based, so there’s at least some attempts to be sustainable by the hotel. I was particularly disappointed by the in-room amenities, which look like they’re intentionally the absolute bare minimum possible. The service is far and away the worst part of the hotel. Like some other reviews here, what I noticed was that the staff - and their distinct lack of genuine service - seriously let this hotel down. Every interaction, from check-in onwards, felt insincere and lacking warmth and most of the staff are thoroughly unhelpful - especially the reception staff. Even the most basic questions about amenities or nearby locations was met with either a useless answer or a hint of annoyance, as though they’re put out by you needing information or assistance. Given how expensive hotels in Hobart are, for $300 a night the staff really need to lift their game. I did not appreciate the atmosphere the staff bring to the hotel at all. All in all a pretty mediocre experience - fine if you’re passing through for a night, but for a longer stay in Hobart I would absolutely stay elsewhere next time.

Lovely modern hotel.. great selection for delicious buffet breakfast.. nice touch with happy hour chocolates at reception area. Negatives very much so with house cleaning. Dust and dirty toilet on arrival. Reported to reception. The close wall window view was a shock due to the coach company booking that we travelled with..that was very disappointing..Couldn't tell if it was day or night.

As a long-term Accor Platinum member, I know the service standards expected of this brand, but the integrity of the staff here is non-existent. 1. Blatant Laziness: In the morning, we turned on the "Make Up Room" lights for our two rooms. We actually saw the housekeeping staff pushing their cart right past us as we left, so they knew we were gone and the rooms were ready to be serviced. Yet, they simply chose to ignore us. 2. The Lies (Gaslighting): We returned at night to find the rooms untouched. When we questioned this, the staff had the audacity to lie and claim we had the "Do Not Disturb" signs on. This is completely false and insulted our intelligence. 3. Refusal to Rectify: What’s worse is their attitude. When we reported this at night, instead of apologizing and fixing it immediately, they tried to push the cleaning to "tomorrow morning" just to avoid working. We had to forcefully demand they come back just to get basic amenities and trash cleared. Management: Your staff are ignoring requests, lying to cover up their laziness, and avoiding work. This is unacceptable.

Fakat elimizde olmayan sebeplerden dolayı otelinize 1 gece geç geldik. Hobart’a olan uçumuz iptal olduğu için 2 gece yerine 1 gece kaldık. Ancak bize ödemiş olduğumuz 2 gecelik ücretin 1 gecesini iade etmediniz. En azından ileride bir başka Mövenpick otelinde kullanılmak üzere hediye çek gibi bir jest yapabilirdiniz.
