Mondrian Seoul Itaewon 5 ดาว

The room was very comfortable. However, it took so long to check in and everything additional (e.g. extra water, etc) was not free (i.e. you had to pay for it). Also, because it was a holiday, we could only use the gym and pool once during our 2 day stay. Breakfast was decent (one tray of food provided based on what cuisine you choose), but not for people who want a wider variety of food like in a buffet. Good location if you want to go out to eat and explore in Itaewon.

Highly recommend this new hotel. Rooms are very nice with a good shower and great view of the city. Nice gym and restaurants too. The front desk were very helpful. Tim at the from desk was really great.

Today is my fiancé’s birthday. Before be here, I requested a few thing. And everything was perfect. Thank you for the high room and event. Thank you for the kindness of the staff and The swimming pool and room condition were better than anywhere else in Seoul.

Sera served us at the reception counter and she was really nice and friendly. We were given an upgrade to our room and early check in which was amazing and gave us more freedom to our iternary for that day. Level 1 is really cool and jazzy, love the atmosphere, Cleo has yummy food, a little big on the serving size for us however. The room was clean and cozy, toilet area was a little squeey and not ideal if friends/family. But it was good for us. We loved the room very much! However, it can feel a little dusty overtime. 10/10 would recommend to friends and families.

When it comes to finding the "right" hotel, sometimes it can feel as though it's a game of give and take. So it was refreshing to find myself in Seoul on business in the cold of December and discover the Mondrian Seoul in Itaewon with all that it has to offer. And there's a lot to offer yet let's start with what puts it at the top: The Team/Staff. Young, personable, multi-lingual and A level hospitality skills from graduates of Hotel Management college degrees from Universities spanning from Seoul to Sydney to the USA. Unless you're just simply a horrible human being (in this case, don't stay here), you're going to find your best friends here. Second on the list is the amenities of this hotel... if you're not using the gym, sauna and indoor pool (in the winter) / outdoor pool (in the summer); you're crazy! This is the best and biggest, cleanest, modern gym and pool I personally found and used in Seoul at any of the hipper places I stayed in Gangnam or Hongdae along with best looking and in shape people I've seen at any of them. The lockers are great. The staff is lovely and cool. So get in that morning workout and laps and wrap it up with a sauna then go get that breakfast you (should have) pre-paid for with your booking in CHARR. That's because the restaurant is nice and the staff even kinder.. and of course A level and globally linguistic. How nice? I pulled an all night film shoot and felt like just having some breakfast before crashing out asleep and the team pre-made and packed up a full breakfast for me to just pick up just before the restaurant opened for breakfast formally at 6:30am to take to my room with a kind note attached to it. If breakfast isn't your thing... maybe you're an intermittent faster or just like to have a coffee or latte... there's no bigger and modern Coffee Bean I saw in the city better than the Coffee Bean located attached to the lobby of the Mondrian. It's a great meeting spot to start your exploring from IMHO.. OK so you want to hear about the rooms now.. so lets get to it... The rooms at the Mondrian are not too big and not too small. If you and your travel partner are traveling with two large pieces of luggage and 2 carry ons... you're going to take up some space in a normal king room but you're fine. If you're a solo traveler with carry on luggage and a backpack or briefcase. (or pelican like me)... you've got tons of room to spare to even do a morning yoga / stretch, meditation. The rooms have a small table desk and chair that are great for a laptop to knock out some work (albeit just go to the lobby as it's nice). Rain showers and toiletries are nice. Other reviewers have mentioned this so lets make it official...the toilets are like US toilets... no bidet, no air dry, no enema option... so pack those flushable wipes with you (or grab them at the 7-11 just across the street) and keep it clean people. Now.. the area. Unless you're just simply lazy as hell.... just about everything you're going to want to check out is walkable in 10-15 minutes. Sure, there are the occasional spots you'll consider taking a taxi to as its more of a huff.. but trust me... get your 20,000 steps in a day here already and your health with thank you in the process and you'll soak in the town in the process. Let's get to the final note... and that's the rooftop bar. In the winter, the indoor rooftop bar is cozy with a drop down circle seating area in the middle of it. It's a great bar for a good cocktail... don't get a beer here.. get a drink.. a good one. The bartenders are unassuming mixologists here.. solid ones who treat making a drink like a surgeon armed with shakers and bitters. I can only imagine the summer and outdoor rooftop with a DJ during a sunset session.. imagining as I haven't seen it but I can and the crowd it will have. Sounds like a need to go back here in warmer weather. Yet for you reading this.. if you're thinking about staying in Itaewon... think no further than the Mondrian. You'll need those brain cells to remember how many bottles of soju you truly had the night before anyways.
