Terrible attitude to guests

Can't say anything good about service in this hotel, because I booked a one-night stay through booking.com and only when I arrived I found out that my reservation wasn't confirmed. I received a letter from booking, I attach photo. Reception girl didn't seem to be surprised, said that hotel didn't receive any money though at the same she said that booking couldn't charge money and offered to call to booking's service first. She didn't offer me any room and insisted that I should solve this situation myself first and call booking. When I asked if they had rooms she said yes - and offered almost twice higher price. According to booking.com hotel wasn't overbooked at all and there were many rooms. One detail - I was traveling with a toddler 1,5 year sleeping on my hands. I consider that it's not appropriate attitude and I also think that this is a standard scheme to earn more money. And it's outrageous. While I was trying to reach booking.com I was getting more and more nervous. I received no apology from the hotel and no assistance from staff. Out of principle I ordered taxi and went to a closest hotel I found where nobody tried to deceive me. P.S. Of course It's my fault that I didn't check my e-mail. But I made this reservation shortly before departure from another city and as I said I was traveling with toddler 1,5 year. Almost one month has passed, I still haven't received my money back. Booking said that they don't see this transaction though I sent to them many letters. Hope nobody will get into such situation, especially with small kids on their hands.

This was my very first stay at the Dubai Swissotel and it’s been simply fantastic. Honorable mentions are Amora at the Consiage and Gobin and Raina at reception who went absolutely out of the way to serve me in multiple occasions. This is hospitality at its absolute best! I will be back in less than a week and I think I found my new home in Dubai. Thank you to the team Anuk
