Mercure Ambassador Seoul Hongdae

What a delight. This hotel is a short walk from the local metro. Its smack in the heart of all the activity of the Hongdae area. The staff are exceptional, friendly and professional. My membership was recognised alongside perks. The room is beautiful, clean and well planned. They have a great lobby with laundry facilities. I regret not staying longer. I want to give my particular appreciation to the friendly staff member who was manning the lobby area on the day of my check out around 2pm on the 2nd of March (sorry I forgot your name) who went above and beyond to assist us in securing a large/venti taxi. You are an asset to the hotel. Thank you again.

First of all, I have to apologize for this way overdue review and have finally found time to do it today. We booked 3 rooms last Christmas and stayed for a 1 week in this hotel. Everything was nice especially the Lobby which was so cozy & pretty with the Xmas decorations. The staff were friendly and the rooms were cleaned and decent. One particular staff whom stood out from the team was Woo Jin whom went the extra miles to assist us with directions, food delivery orders (he paid first and we paid him back) and his care and concern to our family when my daughter was down with high fever during the mid of the stay. I was very surprised to received a bag of snacks hang outside my door the night before we leaves, with his message informing us that he will not see us upon our departure as the next day was his off day after his night shifts, and the snacks were for us to bring along to our plane. Being a service provider myself managing rooms and guests in Singapore for many years, i am totally impressed with this extra mile that he went to for us. He ought to be applauded and the Hotel is lucky to have him , along with the rest of the lovely staff. The only feedback i had for the hotel was probably the response time of the emails and the sensitivity of the key cards. I wrote in few emails prior to my arrival but there was no reply and i had to call in from Singapore to Hotel to confirm some details. The first few nights we were there, the room keys were not working for a couple of times and we had to run up and down for it. Would definitely visit the Hotel again if we visits Hongdae!

Convenient located. Minutes of walk from exit 9, hongik uni station. Lots of restaurants & cafe around the hotel. Can skip the hotel breakfast as not much choice. There 's a balcony in our room where we can get fresh air however seems no one cleans the balcony fence. My hands got charcoal after touching it.

We have our first trip and birthday trip in Seoul this year. With the nice service of staff Wojin, we did have a great experience at Mercure Ambassador Seoul Hongdae. Although the air conditioner of our room was a bit noisy, Wojin still tried his best to compensate for it. He deserves a reward as an encouragement, hope Mercure Ambassador acknowledges his hard-work and praises Wojin. Stayed for 9 nights in order to visit the city and spend time with my English Teaching Daughter living in the city. Saw reviews of standard room being too small so went for the superior room which was fine in size except there was no space down one side of bed but overall room was large enough and the bed was extremely comfy and the room generally was well sound proofed. The TV choice was limited for UK visitors with only one channel showing films in English but it was easy to cast Netflix to the TV. Bathroom was high tech with a heated seat toilet and separate shower room. Rooms in great condition and cleaned daily replacing waters and coffees. Didn't visit on site restaurant or gym to cannot comment on these. No on site bar except for one in restaurant which closes at 10pm. Did visit nearby rooftop bars in Ryse hotel and L7 hotel which are recommended. Great location just a minutes walk to exit 9 for the tube station and whilst the lack of.a good bar was disappointing overall I would recommend the hotel for bed comfort, cleanliness and location..
