Elisabet was just the loveliest person and so so helpful! The staff here are fantastic and were so welcoming. The Mercure is a fantastic hotel and the reception has and bright, contemporary feel and lovely views over the river, we can’t wait to come back!

Faultless customer service, the best I have experienced for a long time. The food was great the hotel facilities were excellent and the hotel is very conveniently located for the town centre and the river festival. I had a drink and a lively snack in the bar before retiring to a very comfortable bed.

The manager and the staff are very helpful and very friendly. A thumbs up to them. The manager upgraded us to a better room of choice, furthermore he gave us, my wife and I, extra amenities which were well appreciated. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay. Thanks again.

Naz was very friendly and cheerful. Lovely view . Ambience is romantic too. Thank you so much, Naz and the rest of the staff. Clean restaurant. Good parking area. Food is reasonably priced and tasted great. Would recommend to friends and family

Dirty! This hotel is in a shocking state of repair- air con didn’t work, mould on the windows, warped wood in the bathroom, missing roof tiles and mucky carpets. The room had clearly been given new furniture and the bed was comfy but 100% not a 4 star. Reception were rude when identifying there was a double booking in my name (upon contacting the business travel company I booked with, the original booking had been cancelled months ago so they just didn’t sort it at mercures end). I travelled with other colleagues who had to move rooms due to unmade bed, mucky sheets and random noises. All in all pretty terrible- stay at the Swan instead.
