I stayed at Mövenpick Hotel in Islamabad twice once in December and again in February of the same year. Overall, the hotel itself is beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. Security is excellent, which made me feel comfortable during my stay, and the lobby area as well as the rooms are well organized and professionally managed. My first visit started with a very pleasant welcome that included a complimentary fruit basket and dry fruits, which was a thoughtful touch and made a great first impression. The rooms were comfortable and well maintained, and in general the front desk team in the lobby was excellent during both visits. The staff at the front desk were always polite, helpful, and professional whenever I needed assistance. Most of the hotel staff were friendly and respectful, and overall customer service and room service were good. However, I did experience a few issues during my stays that I believe could be improved. During my first visit, I had a negative experience at one of the hotel restaurants, Desert Rose. Some of the employees there were not very respectful in their communication with guests. This stood out because the rest of the hotel staff were generally professional and friendly. Another issue during my first stay involved the laundry service. My room package included complimentary laundry service, but when the laundry staff delivered my clothes they asked for cash payment. I explained that my room included laundry service and later spoke with the front desk about it. The front desk staff advised me that if this happened again I should ask the laundry staff to confirm the room benefits with them. Unfortunately, the same situation happened again when I sent laundry another time. The staff once again asked for cash payment, and I had to remind them to contact the front desk to verify that laundry was included with my room. When I returned for my second stay in February, my experience was slightly different. The hotel remained clean and well maintained and the front desk service was again excellent. However, room service seemed slower during this visit. The laundry service also had delays during my second stay. On two separate occasions I sent laundry and did not receive it back for two days until I called to follow up. Once I contacted them, the laundry was returned shortly afterward. I would also recommend additional training for the drivers associated with the hotel’s car rental service. During my first stay I had a driver named Asif who was excellent—very respectful, professional, and a careful driver. Unfortunately, during my second stay the drivers I used were not as friendly and their driving style was uncomfortable. Guests can easily feel nauseated when vehicles are driven aggressively, so professional driving and guest interaction are important parts of the hospitality experience. I was later told that Asif had been relocated to another hotel due to an internal issue that was reportedly blamed on him, which was unfortunate because he provided excellent service. Another small issue involved the rental car receipts. I requested copies of my receipts from the front desk and was told they would be emailed to me. It has now been over two months and I have not yet received those receipts. Despite these issues, I still believe the hotel has many strong qualities. The property itself is beautiful, clean, and well managed. Security is excellent, and most employees are friendly and helpful. The front desk staff in particular consistently provided excellent service during both visits. With a few improvements in areas such as restaurant service, laundry coordination, driver professionalism, and follow-up communication regarding receipts, the overall guest experience could be significantly improved. I hope this feedback is helpful and appreciated, as the hotel has many positive qualities and the potential to provide an even better experience for guests.
