Family trip to Phu Quoc

My family of 9 checked into 4 rooms, 1 deluxe family room with sea view and 3 superior king room with sea view. My kids really enjoyed the daily chocolate hour from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. They had different cakes, cookies plus cotton candy. The free breakfast buffet was good and they had a wide variety of American and Vietnamese dishes. My family especially enjoyed the infinity pool which the water was heated. They also have daily happy hour from 5pm to 7pm at the pool bar which we made use of. Hana from the pool service provided excellent service. She made sure my family was taken care of and informed us on our first day of the happy hour special. I liked their pina colada. Drink was tasty and it wasn’t too strong. The hotel is about 15 minutes to VinWonders and the Safari and 40 minutes to the cable car. We reserved the 16 seat car service from the airport to hotel and from airport to the port to take the ferry back to my parents home town. The driver that picked us up from the airport was professional and on time. As we entered the car, he gave us all wet towels and cookies. Make sure to reserve the transportation in advance. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Mövenpick and would definitely come back here if we were to visit Phu Quoc again. The only complaint was that the pool closed at 7pm. I wished it closed a little later.

Really good facilities but be aware of staff

Facilities in this resort are fantastic. Comfy bed, big clean room with beautiful views. Beautiful clean pool areas and paradise beach at the front of the resort. Breakfast is really varied and good, and food at the restaurants is good enough, not to eat there every day of your stay though. The reason why we give it a 3 out of 5 is the staff. We had a couple of shocking experiences that shouldn’t happen to anyone: - First: at check in, there was only one member of staff, so we arrived and waited to check in after a couple that had arrived before us. At some point, a second member of staff arrived at reception, a Vietnamese family of around 10 guests arrived when we had been waiting for a while now, and this second member of staff checked them in, all between laughs and looks at us. All I’ll say is: coming from a country whose main industry is tourism, big advice is: if you want your country to be known for its impecable customer service and education, treat everyone fairly! - Second: we rented a scooter and it was a member of staff who put us in touch with the rental company. They were charging us a higher price than normal and delivered the scooter nearly with no petrol, but we thought we wouldn’t complain as the staff member was getting a cut and of course it was comfortable for us to get the motorbike delivered to the hotel. We were asked to leave the scooter at the end of the day parked outside our hotel with the keys in the side pocket. We thought it was quite convenient, but again there’s security at the hotel, so we trusted the process. Until the day after, the staff member sends a video with a missing rear view mirror,, and guessing the next demand would have been payment or worse. And sorry… we are tourists, not idiots. Of course we had taken a video of the parked bike when we finished with the rear view mirror in perfect condition. This is a scam everyone should be aware of. And yes, it can happen, but in a 5 star hotel? All facilitated by a member of staff? No, that’s not quality service I’m afraid. All these experiences turn your few days in paradise in a few days of being alert and not trusting anyone, and it’s a shame. It didn’t happen to us in all our 3 weeks north, center and south of Vietnam, it happened to us in Phu Quoc.

Very nice hotel experience. Especially in Aura, you should been this bartender by the name of Tien. He is really awesome. Very warm and friendly waiters by the name of Tuyen & Blackus (Nhu), they deserve a promo! These are the right people that make this hotel lively… keep it up!!

Fijn kindvriendelijk resort in Phu Quoc

Prachtig en nieuw resort met een heel fijn zwembad. Het ontbijt is super uitgebreid en er is elke dag veel afwisseling qua gerechten. Verder ook erg lekker gegeten bij het Vietnamese restaurant Lang Chai! Hier zijn we erg vriendelijk geholpen door Lieu, Quynh, Ngan, Nhi en de chef-kok Binh. Zij hebben leuk gespeeld met onze zoon van 1,5 jaar. Bij Aura kan je leuk drankjes doen na het zwemmen met uitzicht op de zee. Hier werden we zeer vriendelijk bediend door o.a. Hoang en Lieu. Ze hebben hier ook iedere dag om 3:30pm chocolate hour in de lobby waar je kan genieten van gebakjes en fruit! Ze hebben ook andere fijne faciliteiten als een gym of uitgebreide kinderspeelplek. Het hotel is prachtig gelegen aan een fijn strand met mooie zonsondergang.
