I stayed at the Movenpick as my weekend break while traveling for work.After arriving around 8 am and asking for early check in because I had not yet slept, I was given a pass to use the facility. At noon I checked in room again and made sure to note that we had been awake for over 20 hours already. Told to wait until 3 pm. At 3 pm, check in time mind you, our rooms were not available and the front desk staff were going around talking to people and we stood there waiting for over 40 minutes. People who arrived after us checked in and went up to their rooms. We were told there were no rooms for us and we were moved to a family suite. Since I was traveling with a work colleague and not family, this was a very awkward experience. Then one of the showers completely flooded the entire bathroom and bedroom. Then check out also took 40 minutes and it is unclear why. You need to up your level of service at check in and check out. No one wants to spend hours at a front desk.

We (myself and by business colleague) arrived early on May 2nd (before 8am) fully understanding this was well before 3pm check in. We did early check in. We checked several times and were told cleaning was working on our room. After being awake for 24 hours we were exhausted. Then we saw several people were given rooms before us. Then around 3pm we were informed that they didn’t have rooms for us. Their solution was to give us a 2 bedroom suite. Which, if we were family would have been lovely. As business colleagues, it was awkward at best. As we were exhausted we accepted the accommodations offered. I travel to the Philippines at least once per year for business. I will never stay at the movenpick again.
