The kindest staff at reception. I recommend it for families

We stayed there for 10 days. Staff and the people at reception are friendly and very very nice. Our Checkout was at 12PM but our pickup time had a bit delayed, we stayed there till 4PM and the reception was kind enough to let us checkout a bit late. I would never forget her face and her kindness. Indeed the people of Madina are the kindest.

disgusting 2 star hotel

This is NOT a 5 Star hotel! The rooms are disgusting - The carpets were filthy and need replacing - The mattresses were shocking we could feel the springs when lying on them. This was the same for all 4 beds - They joined 2 single beds together to make a double bed! Then there was a lamp screwed on the wall above my head it was awful! - Huda Beladi manager said she would personally inspect the room before which she didnt complete and utter lies - The AC system in the room was outdated and needs full replacement as you cant even set a temperature. - This is a 2 star hotel at best - The reception staff were rude and not understanding at all - The general managed was also rude and just made us wait 30 minutes to fulfil a simple task - Our fridge stopped working one day we had to wait for the handyman to come and fix it. There was a lot of ice jammed in the fridge - We had no electricity for about an hour or so one day not sure why - Our lamp was flickering we had to call someone to fix the bulb - The carpets were so dirty I never felt like taking my sandals off - The AC vents were bent and looked horrible - Every time I went for breakfast we had to wait or struggled to find a table. - When at breakfast if we asked for a spoon or something similar it would take the waiter about 10 mins before we got a spoon - The tiles in our bathroom were horrible there was black gold everywhere again this is down to this horrible hotel needing refurbishment. I wouldnt stay here again or recommend this horrible hotel to my worst enemy. I actually emailed huda beladi to cancel this months in advance but she never allowed me to .. Instead this hotel ruined my Medina experience Also dont be fooled by the pictures on Accor or Expedia as unfortunately you do not get whats pictured.

To start off with a positive note, the hotel is in a great location, literally a 30second walk to the haram gate 328. The managers khalid & Saeed were helpful at check in, in sorting our rooms which were an issue. As for the cons, unfortunately all the negative feedback is correct and we only saw more recent reviews when we reached makkah and by this time it was too late to change hotels. To start off with, upon check in there is one regular gentleman who checks everyone in, his attitude was appalling to our concerns regarding the bathroom access. The doors and toilets in certain rooms on specific sides of the hotel are really poorly designed, the toilet was obstructing opening the bathroom door fully. This was an issue in our parents room and the gentleman at the check in counter had a shocking no care no urgency attitude. We arrived and checked in at 18:30pm however trying to get help and get sorted took til 21:30pm. However the managers on shift - khalid and Saeed helped alleviate issues and find solutions. Albeit it was a temporary alternative floor, they managed to find us a room with us all on the same floor the following day ( as this is what we had request well in advance) Might I add that the hotel or partner booking website sending you emails asking your preferences a couple of days before makes NO difference whatsoever as they just end up giving your rooms away to those who check in earlier so if you check in after 6pm, more than likely your preferences have been dismissed. The hotel should not keep pestering guests days before about their preferences when it doesnt matter what we say, our needs are not met. We pay alot of money and its poor value. From point of booking, to sending emails, to sending preferences, we have clearly said we want 3 rooms on the same floor. Despite check in happening earlier in the day, surely our room should have been reserved? Although this issue was resolved 24-48hrs later in both movenpicks we stayed at, this DID happen in both makkah and madinah movenpicks. Secondly, the plumbing in the bathrooms and general supposed "renewal" is appaling. The Sink taps were positioned poorly so water was splashing everywhere, my parent's and sisters rooms were fine so obviously they are flawing in places. The shower doors didn't close properly and because the shower hose was positioned toward the door, both factors combined meant water was leaking all over the bathroom and we needed many towels. Thirdly, the rooms are poorly lit with no actual ceiling lights, you are dependant on freestanding lamps and wall lamps, and some rooms are small with no natural light. Fourthly, the the fridge is on top of the beverage station, which is hard to access. One of the biggest negatives was that In the al salam restauraunt for breakfast - the supervisor was awkward about giving boxes to take left over food up that i didnt want to waste. On 1 occasion he gave, on the second, I unfortunately couldn't finish my food due to feeling unwell and his remarks were "it is buffet, you should only take what you can manage" and despite me trying to explain about why I couldn't finish my food (which i shouldnt need to?), he repeated the same remark 3 times and said we can go to bin dawood and bring boxes if we wish. I was gob smacked. The whole stay was uncomfortable to be honest but we didn't complain as it's the prophets holy city however they NEED to make changes. Supposedly "renewing some floors every 4 months" isn't a renewal when there are so many issues, it's a bad job and we are not paying cheap so guests need to feel they are getting value for their money. We mentioned the bad reviews we had seen upon check in and the gentleman said "them people don't know or understand how it works". Um I think their reviewd are quite accurate actually. Overall not good value for money. We stayed in movenpick in makkah and honestly they are universes apart in quality. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all. This is NOT a 5star hotel, I'd say 3 star max so whoever authorised that to them needs to audit this hotel again!

NOT 5*!!! I’ve stayed in better 3* hotels. Staff are rude and slow service (waited 45 mins to check in and 1 hour further to get my bags even though I called 4 times) Rooms are ok, but we had a room in Madinah tower where the window faced directly into another bedroom so we spend the entire holiday with the curtains closed. The bathrooms are disgusting! We found hair when we moved in, the sealant is all black with mould, the toilet doesn’t flush properly, the shower will randomly give outbursts of boiling hot water. Generally a very bad hotel. I would not recommend!

Hotel is old and dirty. The toiket stank and the new towels had someones hair in them. Bed sheets were stained and the lighying of the room was reqlly poor and depressing. Toiket showers and basins were rusty. I will always avoid all Movenpicks from now on.
