Great hotel with great people and amazing snorkelling

Generally fantastic! Food - very good and great variety. Drinks - mostly very good. Beer good. Cocktails great in lounge bar and variable otherwise. Mohammed - restaurant supervisor - great service, very friendly with good sense of humour. Service at the lounge bar was exceptional - very friendly and helpful. With genuine apologies, temporarily forgot name of head barman who was great as was his new recruit Aya. Some nice piano playing in lounge on some evenings. Be great with some singing to accompany. Pool was nice. Mando from the animation team was great fun. Plenty of squality sunbeds. The best part was the snorkelling immediately off the beach. This was amazing! Esaily accessible, large reefs very pretty and with great variety of fish. All the staff were incredibly friendly and genuine. Service mattered to them so much. Good access to Sharm and the next bay. felt very safe albeit with a little hassle from the odd tradesman. Felt a very inclusive place with no obvious religious issues. Several merry Xmas decorations on display. Downsides were the entertainment and concerns about the staff welfare. The entertainment was very weak and dated and occasionally uncomfortable with guests being dragged on stage for inappropriate contests and belly dancing etc. It was poor that a couple of bars were reserved for paying guests and the entertainment was probably better. They did not seem very busy. The hotel was crying out for some singers. Evening s were long and boring as we sough to avoid the pressures of supporting third rate entertainment or vegging in the lounge. I was concerned that staff worked long days every day for months on end with no holidays in sight. Their life was work and sleep. The other irritant was the high class lucky lucky people sanctioned by the hotel. You were constantly pestered by people pushing massages, beauty treatment, diving, classes, etc as a captive audience. The manager of the beauty place pushed way too hard and aggressively making us uncomfortable and trying to force appointments. Overall well beyond expectations. Great week.

The hotel was great as were the staff, the food was amazing with great variety and choices to make, the pool area was relaxing and very quiet and clean, the beach was a short walk but worth the view, and the location of the hotel was walking distance from local market.
