We arrived at Mecure Kyoto at 11.30am and the staff told us our room was not ready and we were told the checking in time is at 2.00pm. We were told they are cleaning it and be informed when it is ready. We were kept waiting at the lobby. Two guests came after us and were given room even thought we were waiting at the lobby without any update what so ever regarding the status of our room. We felt the policy was unfair since we arrived first and waiting for the room. We requested if we could speak to the manager, Mr. Sato, regarding the policy and staff attitude. Mr. Sato decided not to speak to us which we very disappointed by his attitude and his inflexible policy regarding allocation of rooms to the guest We found the room which we were given was full of dust flying around the bathroom, entry corridor and the bedroom. We realized why there was is an air filter in the room. We brought this matter to staff who kindly and helpfully offer to change the room for us. We looked at the another room on the same floor and also the 3rd floor. We found this problem is not confined to our specific room but to the whole building. We were concern for our health breathing the dust while we sleep and resting in the room during the day. We decided to move to another hotel and cut short our stay at Mecure Kyoto. In our opinion the dust is a health hazard. Please DO NOT put your profits above the health of your guest. Bye , Bye Mercure Kyoto we won’t be staying in your hotel again.

I found this a very good hotel. Room was comfortable, staff good, newly opened and had no issues with this. It is a pleasant walk to transport including the JR station. I used it as a base for travel to other cities such as Naha, Himeji, Fukuoka (went for a coffee), Osaka and Koshien. I would have no issues going again.

This is my mixed review, i checked in on Oct 24th and checked out on Oct 28th. I’m a Gold ALL Member. The day i checked out, i forgot to bring my bag which have two passports inside it. My location at that time is in Itami Airport and i have a flight to Haneda approx half hour later. I panicked and email the hotel and no reply for it. I called the hotel, and there’s this Male Reception who receive my call and didn’t solve any problem at all. First, he told me he needed to check with the housekeeping and he will reply to my email 1-2 minutes later to tell me if they found the bag or not. I waited 30minutes, missed my Haneda flight, and there’s still no reply. 45minutes later, i called again, he picked up again, and only said ‘Oh, just wait a minute, i will connect you to someone’ just like that. I’m really disappointed with how he handled my problem, i missed my flight 3 pax tickets because of it. Later, i called again, and this time Ms.Ryu picked up, well thanks to her, she told me she would send my bag to Tokyo Hotel, after that i booked another flight to Haneda and case solved. I’m really disappointed with the Male Reception, if only the one that picked my phone earlier was Ms.Ryu, i will not miss my flight. Thank you Ms.Ryu :)

Excellent service and facilities. The site is convenient to Kyoto station, enabling easy travel within Kyoto and elsewhere (e.g. daytrip to Hiroshima in our case, and incoming travel from Osaka airport, then outgoing to Osaka airport)

Hotel próximo a estação (mas não tão próximo), localizado em uma rua muito reservada que garante silencio durante a estadia. Equipe muito atenciosa, o check-in super rápido e deram docinhos japoneses de cortesia. Não utilizamos o restaurante nem para o café da manhã. Os preços para almoço e jantar nos pareceu um pouco alto. O quarto era amplo (principalmente comparado a tóquio) bem equipado e acomodou bem 3 pessoas. Por ser próximo a estação fica fácil se deslocar, inclusive para Nara. Recomendo
