ibis Budget Sheffield Centre St Marys Gate

I stayed here for one night on two occasions in March 2023. The rooms are basic but that is reflected in the price. What you do get though, is value for money - the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The shower is very good and the bathroom very clean. The heating is easy to adjust. There was no external noise or any from other guests. The included complimentary drink was a welcome surprise. A hand towel would be a good addition, but for one night, using the end of a bath sheet is OK. Environmentally, its a good thing I'm sure!

So I now understand budget!! This is the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. It was a tiny drab grey room with a double bed pushed against the wall and barley enough room to pass each other. No chair no sofa no desk as none would have fit . This room made a travel lodge room look like the Dorchester. It genuinely put me in a bad mood it was so depressing . And at £90 hardly budget . Also the close by parking is bullsh@t its a ten minute walk into the city centre . I would never ever visit an Ibis on the back of this experience

Just wanted somewhere clean, comfortable and reasonably priced for a one night stay and this was perfect. It is a budget hotel so there was no cupboards or bedside tables, just a couple of shelves and an open rack with hangers. The rooms are quite small too but very clean and comfy. The aircon/heating was perfect too. The reception area was open plan, no desk and the bar area served as the breakfast area. Most seats and tables are quite low and while fine for relaxing with a drink are not ideal for eating, although there are traditional type tables. Breakfast was continental, cereal, cheeses, toast, yogurt, croissants, juices and hot drinks and included in our room price, however we would have had to have paid extra for an English cooked breakfast. Staff were very friendly and supplied extra pillows when requested. Parking has to be paid for at nearby private car parks. I believe the hotel has an arrangement with the Moor car park for £8 a night. We walked from the station in around 15-20 minutes but there are bus stops just around the corner which will go to the main bus station which is a short walk from the station. Sheffield United FC is a short distance away, a Waitrose and an Aldi across the road. The main shopping area is 5 minutes away. I would stay here again.

New hotel , very clean, great bathroom . Friendly and helpful staff. The ‘restaurant’ is a bar serving snacks from 21.30 ! Good value for money , close to a Waitrose and not far in walking distance to the centre. My room was too cold.

We stayed at the Ibis St Marys as we were going to watch our club Wrexham play sheffield United the ground was about 0.5 mile from the hotel.When you enter the hotel you come through the Ibis cafe which is of very high standard here you will be met by a receptionist who will give you your room key.The room was very small but did the job and the bathroom looked very modern and was designed to look and be able to keep clean the shower was first class.When leaving the hotel to go for a beer before the game we realised that from 5-7 it was happy hour buy one get one free not to bad at £3.50 a bottle and we were also entitled to a free drink each off Ibis as we had subscribed to them online.Would stay again if in the area.
