This hotel is beautiful. The staff looked after us so nicely. The room was very spacious , the bed amazing , the shower fabulous and Archie the dog in reception such a beautiful touch . Loved our stay here , thank you !

This was my highlight The hotel is comfortable, warm close to walking tracks across the road is a car & bike museum. The hotel is great for couples, families, solo travellers . They have a lovely restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The hotel is a few minutes drive to the cataract gorge chair lift. Be prepared to pay for parking though

Getting a meal at night is a nightmare. Offered 4 different menus, none of which was appropriate or active. Office manager got involved and that was a negative. End result was having to order a meal in the cafe and then go back up to the room to eat it as they wouldn't serve it in the cafe. Breakfast offering is also very restrictive. Can't have this can't have that.

All reasonable efforts were made to accommodate your requests including being flexible outside our normal operating guidelines. While we acknowledge that from time to time we can fall short we will always treat our guests with respect and kindness and simply ask that is also given in return.

Silo surprise

Beautiful Historic Hotel by the banks of the Tamar River . I had booked a Tamar river view room which I assumed would be in the old Silos Building and was one of the reasons I chose this Hotel. Unfortunately it was in the new building out the back. It was a beautiful spacious room with excellent and comfortable facilities but the river view was not what I was expecting. It was a view of the Hotel car park and garden and the homeless encampment nearby with glimpses of the river. I received a really nice welcome gift as a Platinum Accor member but no room upgrade. Food and Beverages Once I got past my disappointment with the room and the view we ventured to Woodys Bar for a light dinner and some drinks. The Hotel has an exceptionally comfortable lounge area and the bar had a good range of tapas style food and an excellent range of drinks which assuaged my hunger and thirst and eased my disappointment somewhat. The staff in Woodys Bar were very professional and helpful and exceptional at their jobs. Breakfast at Grain of the Silos was made to order and delicious with a good range of a la carte choices. It’s a bit of a distance to the city but the Seaport area with an array of restaurants is nearby and you can also walk to Cataract Gorge. The hotel seems very well run and all staff that we interacted with from Reception to Housekeeping and Bar and Restaurant were very professional. I would stay again but would definitely reach out to the Hotel and request a room in the Silos or at least check what I had booked.

If it helps, and to help clarify our Tamar Rooms are part of the structure built around the Silo and accessed from the same corridor with views over the hills, and yes there is a part view of the river. It is unfortunate that there are those less fortunate and we are working to support local partners to help find a more appropriate and comfortable location.
